The Down-Low on Lily Collins Negotiating ‘Rosaline’ Role

(PS I love this pic from the Nylon Magazine this month, don’t you?)

Breathe in…..breathe out. All is well. (remember JCB told us???) Lily Collins is in EARLY TALKS for the movie ‘Rosaline’. A remake of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo & Juliet. If you haven’t been around for awhile….and trust me, it’s been awhile…then you would know that this movie has been trying to get off the ground for longer than ‘Mortal Instruments’!!! In fact, Lily was slated for it like a year ago! I know, it’s a dinosaur right? That said, it may or may not film sooner. No one who knows that information is talking right now.

Just rely on this: as per Jamie Campbell Bower, Lily Collins, Marlene King and Cassandra Clare: The Mortal Instruments is a go. IF Lily decides to take this role, I’m positive it will be negotiated around her TMI schedule. Do I need to remind you how many “IF’s” there are involved in this whole scenario??? Not enough in the world…..

“…Dave Franco (Fright Night) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) were entering negotiations to play the legendary star-crossed lovers, but now Variety has announced that Steinfeld has walked away from the project and Collins has returned to the table for “early talks.”

…should she sign on, Collins would be playing Juliet. Though she’s not as renowned as 15-year-old Oscar nominee Steinfeld, at 22, Collins would certainly be a more age-appropriate choice to play opposite 26-year-old Franco. Moreover, Collins, with her glamorous looks and seemingly effortless grace, could be a nice foil to Woll, who has established a keen ability for playing gorgeous yet gawky and loveable underdogs. Additionally, this could be a good opportunity for the Abduction star to explore her comedic talents, rather than taking on another dramatic role. “

Marlene King Offers ‘Mortal Instruments’ August Filming Rumor

Rumor only. And guess what? I’m of a mind to not believe it.

I think it will start sooner. If casting is truly done by March….well, we all saw what ‘Hunger Games’ pulled off. Not to mention that Scott Charles Stewart has already worked renderings for the film. Just sayin’.

What do you guys think?

Marlene King Confirms ‘Mortal Instruments’ “News” is Coming Soon!

So there I was. Online. *Blirp*Twitter with @iMarleneKing written next to TMI. That’s all I needed to start panting like a race-horse I tell ya…panting like I’d been running the Alps with Jamie Bower!

What did she spill?

She started by saying “If you’re a TMI fan, wait for it. Wait for it…”

So then we ALL flipped out. Naturally. Then she asked “Are you a TMI fan?” (of course I used all caps, what do you take me for? :)

At this point a lot of her PLL (Pretty Little Liars) peeps who live under rocks proceed to ask what TMI is. If I had no respect I might say: IDIOTs. But I do, so we will just call them UNFORTUNATE. So, Marlene explains:

How many times did she just say Soon to be Movie?????????!!!!! I kNOW right???

And then, to pat us on the head, a nod to Magnus. <3 her!

Now I’m sobbing because MAGNUS LIVES!!!! The beauty of this moment….soak it in friends, soak it in. We deserve it.

And the ONLY reason I left twitter to post y’all (I was retweeting the entire time. Get on Twitter guys!) she bids us adieu with high hopes for tomorrow!!

Oh, I GOT it sister! And one more nice piece of news:

YAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHHH *devilshornshands*

Happy sleeping. If you can :)

UPDATE: ‘Mortal Instruments’ Movie Had Reason to Delay, According to Cassie Clare

The moment we’ve been waiting for, ok, well not THAT moment. (Sitting in the theatre watching the movie!!! What were YOU thinking??!) The moment as in….WHAT is GOING ON with the ‘Mortal Instruments’ Movie????? Cassandra Clare finally had the chance to clear up the details with FabLife:

THE REASON THE MOVIE HAS BEEN DELAYED:

“Nobody could settle on a script that they liked, and so there was a lot of back-and-forthing, and finally, it came down from the head of the studio [Screen Gems] that she wanted the script rewritten,” Cassie told TheFABlife. “She didn’t feel like it stuck close enough to the book. I kind of agreed with her. There were some characters that were taken out and things that were switched around, and it was very different from City of Bones.”

CASSANDRA’S WISH LIST OF INCLUSIONS FOR THE SCRIPT

“I really want them to stay true to the relationships between the characters,” she explained. “Jace’s relationship to his adoptive family was really important. I feel like the whole twist with Jace and Clary and their relationship was really important and guides the next two books, and you can’t really take it out. It’s so taboo at the same time, but they’re just going with it. That’s what makes these books.”

WHY THE FIRST SCRIPT STUNK WORSE THAN FOUL CHEESE:

“One of the biggest disappointments in the first script was that warlock Magnus was left out entirely, despite the fact that he has a pivotal role later on, particularly as boyfriend to young Shadowhunter Alec. “That’s one of the things Marlene really got. In the interactions between Alec and Magnus, you can see their burgeoning relationship, which I think is really nice,” she said. “I really wanted them to keep the positive portrayal of gay characters, and the gay relationship was important and relatable and went along with everybody else’s relationships.”

(I think we can all agree that a script without Magnus needed fixing. Are you daft?? What were they THINKING???? *angryeyes*)

NOW THAT IT’S FIXED, WHAT THE FRACK ARE THEY DOING NOW?

King recently turned in revamp the script, and Clare said she’s pleased with it.

“I’ve got my fingers crossed,” she said. “Now, all the producers have to sign off on the rewrite and if they’re happy with it then we move forward. They still want to shoot early next spring, so they’re going to have to go bang, bang, bang with casting and everything like that.”

(Did I hear a “bang, bang, bang with casting” in there?? Totally just choked on my burrito! Happy choke!!!! :D )

WHEN WILL THIS SITE BE POSTING AS MANY LEGAL SET PICS AND FILMING INFO AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN???

“Clare estimates that we’re probably going to see a spring/summer 2013 release date instead of the previous goal of 2012.”

How are you feeling? Are you ok? I’m actually good with this. Knowing the importance of the re-write did make it easier to bear, however, let’s just approve that sucker and move on!! *bangbangbang*

Cassandra Clare Gives Movie Update at ‘Clockwork Prince’ Release Party

Okokokokokokokok. OK.

So: did you catch that part around 1:04 where she quickly roughed over the part where after they get signed off on the script re-write (which has been our story for a few weeks…BUT WHO’S COUNTING!!!!!???) they start filming.

In a nutshell: pray to the God’s of script-approval for a superfluous bestowal of speed to the order of SCREEN GEMS! Now ##*%THDDAH!

Gabriel Hugoboom Gives Cassie Clare a Thumbs Up on ‘Mortal Instruments’ Script Re-Write

Yesterday, on Twitter, a very interesting conversation popped up. Good news about Twitter? One big party, and I was a total eavesdropper. Am I ashamed? A little. Come on people, I have my pride. However, it was all so positive and out in the open. I had to share the excitement!

Gabriel Hugoboom, recently rumored to play Alec Lightwood in ‘Mortal Instruments, asked Cassandra Clare what the status of the movie was. Her answer is awesome! Nothing hugely new…..but I am always excited to hear it. Over and over and over again :D

(owie. I’m sure he fat-fingered Jace on that one.*facepalm*)

After hearing Gabriel’s thoughts on the original script he read from, I am SO relieved they went ahead with Marlene King and a re-write!! It’s been incredibly torturous to wait, but in the end we should all be so grateful they are doing what it takes to get it right!
