Is Jemima West Going to Rock ‘City of Bones’ in Isabelle Lightwood Role?

 

Cassandra Clare has answered more questions about Jemima West. I KNEW you needed these deets as well!

 

“Will Jemima dye her hair/wear contacts to play Isabelle?”

She will surely dye her hair. Contacts probably, but some people/actors can’t wear them (Daniel Radcliffe never could, that’s why Harry always had blue-green eyes, allergies I think) so I cannot make promises about stuff that is basically “the costume department’s decision down the road in connection with the actor’s physical limitations.” I am assured they will do everything they can to make the actors fit the physical descriptions in the book, where appropriate.

“What was Jemima’s audition like?”

Really good! She did a scene with Clary, but she also did the scene where she talks about Alec being gay — “I love my brother, I’d do anything for him, but I can’t help him with this” and was lovely and passionate. I was like, That’s damn right, you love your brother! He’s a good guy! She convinced me.

Everyone calm now? Just like Cassie has always said, as close to the book as possible and passionate auditions! Can’t WAIT!!

Born August 11th, 1987 means she will be 25 this summer.  She is beautiful and they don’t have to alter her appearance very much to be our Izzy.  She joins the cast all the way from Paris, France!! Well no one can say they haven’t been looking everywhere for our characters!!

Cassie Clare shared this on her Tumbler page about an hour or so ago.  Would have told you all sooner but that’s what happens when you watching Pretty Little Liars and Dance Moms..sorry :)

Here’s what Cassie had to say:

Jemima West. She’s beautiful (like whoa) and really talented. You can see her as Vittoria on The Borgias right now. She had a lot of Izzy’s toughness and directness in her audition. I like her.

Our Alec may well be a lot more known to you. He’s British, and …I’ll tell you who he is in the next post. I have to go collect photos and info and things. …

Oh I can’t tell you how excited I am as I am sure you all are too to hear some news!! I guess the fortnight is up!!

City of Bones Casting News???

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seriously this is the most tight lipped casting I have ever experienced!! What are they doing over there??

So what we know is very little. Jamie is Jace, Lily is Clary and after that the information stalls…

Here’s what we have heard from various sources:

At leadst 100 actors have auditioned for Magnus and I would think out of all of those hopefuls they have found one but haven’t divulged his identity.  There has been actors who have let us know that they have not won the role so that tells us that they have in all liklihood made a decision.

As for Simon according to CC they have offered the role to someone now they are just checking to see if his schedule can be freed up enough to take the job.  ( I can only think of one actor who would have scheduling conflicts, but what do I know?)

Isabelle had been narrowed down to eight actresses last we heard.  One of them was Australian so I am crossing my fingers and everything else that Phoebe Tonkin gets the role :)

As for Alec there hasn’t been much grumbling about him at all?? Which I find rather odd.  But then again this whole wait until we start filming to reveal the cast is odd as well.  I mean, how can they start filming in August if no one has had time to rehearse with eachother??

Oh well I guess we have to assume they know what they are doing. Well I promise you all that when the news breaks about who wins these oh so coveted roles we will do a proper write up for each!

I found this tweet to be very interesting. Now if you recall way back on October 13th I did a cast request for Phoebe Tonkin as Isabelle Lightwood.  One that was met with a lot of positive feedback.  Phoebe had a run on CW with Secret Circle which apparently has been canceled.  Could she be gearing up for an audition? Perhaps she’s already gone in for one. ..

Not to start the rumor mill..this confirms nothing except the fact that she is going to start reading the books, but the optimistic fangirl in me who would LOVE to see her as Izzy can’t help but wonder if there was a reason she tweeted this for all to see!

Born July 12, 1989 puts her smack dab in the middle of the age group of the current cast. She is also 5’10 which makes her taller than the average girl, which is another Izzy descriptive trait!

From what I have seen of her acting ability on the show she is a complete bad @#!$.  She likes to go rogue and has a take no prisoners attitude about her. I think she would make a stunning Isabelle Lightwood!

I figured it was time to throw in a cast request for the female gender and give the boys a rest….

Odette Yustman Cast Request for Isabelle Lightwood

        

Saucy, Sexy, Gorgeous and Hardcore. How did we miss such an amazing fit for Isabelle? Odette Yustman is extremely beautiful, but has Katherine Zeta-Jones edginess. Confident and threatening.

Those eyes would intimidate me…add a whip and voila! I highly recommend checking out her imdb here. (‘Kindergarten Cop’, ‘The Unborn’, Teen Choice Award Nominee and she’s a huge fan of Angelina Jolie. It’s fate!)

 Oh, and it’s official, Odette is my new favorite name.

Fan Casting Ideas for Isabelle in City of Bones

 

Perusing through forums, groups and tweets there are quite a few ideas out there for casting Isabelle. She’s a saucy little sweetheart, so I think Megan Fox or Jessica Parker Kennedy over Ashley Green.

I absolutely adore Ashley, I just can’t see her as mean-tempered as Isabelle. Do you guys think she could convince us?
