Our very own Valentine will be on this Fall on NBC in the new series Dracula from the producers of Downton Abbey and director of The Tudors.  It looks really good.  I think Jonathan is going to be a great Valentine.  He plays dark roles very well.  What do you all think of this new series and Jonathan?

Dinner with Cassandra Clare in Toronto

Many of the fan sites invited to Toronto had the  opportunity  to meet and have dinner with Cassandra Clare before their big day tomorrow. Fun was had by all!  We want to hear all the details!!! Cassie had a shout out to the FANS!!!

August 15 Shooting Date for ‘Mortal Instruments’!

movie news dutifully delivered!

So I can’t post much; I’m running off the airport, literally, to catch a plane home.

I had a great meeting last night with Robert (of Constantin — the people who own the movie rights to City of Bones) and Jessica (screenwriter, along with Marlene King) and the director, who had such incredibly detailed questions about the film that I found myself having to pull out my iPad and reread City of Bones because even I couldn’t remember what happened. But he did, which is an excellent sign!

Anyway, it was a great meeting — we went on for hours till they kicked us out of the restaurant and everyone was incredibly enthusiastic. Now here is an actual piece of actual news: I know people have been fretting because Lily has so many projects (she’s a popular girl) so I checked in and she is locked down schedule-wise for an August 15 shooting start date for City of Bones.

Yes, that’s an August shooting start date. So there, an actual piece of news. :) They’re hiring a casting director now to start on the rest of the cast, and Lily has what’s called “meaningful consultation” on the roles of Jace and Simon (meaning she gets to put in her two cents, which only seems fair since she has to kiss them both) — we know she already threw in for Jamie but I will say that she definitely likes someone for Simon that a lot of you all like. Who knows, maybe she can talk him into it. Girl with good taste, our Lily.

And that’s all for now, I run to the airport, but I’ll have a bit more for you later — like the director’s name. ;)

There I go, re-posting every word again…..What would YOU have left out??? (I rest my case :)

Two thoughts:

#1) Two words: LOGAN LERMAN. Come on peeps, this HAS to be who Cassie is referring to. Lily and Logan are on set AS WE SPEAK. We’ve all been very vocal about Logan as Simon. Cross your bras on this people!!! Cross anything you got! :)

#2) WHO WAS AT THE RESTAURANT!???? Come forward…waitress, hostess, patron, rat…ANYONE!!! What can you tell us???????

Scott Stewart Sells Himself For ‘Mortal Instruments’

I can’t say I ever doubted the choice to put Scot Stewart int he Director’s chair for ‘Mortal Instruments’, but now I’m in love with the choice! Things I feel are important to be included and make TMI unique are exactly his specialty. Let’s see:

  • gritty, goth, edgy feel? (check)
  • action? (check)
  • active protagonist? (check)
  • world within a world? (check)
  • most important: character development! (check…as in, check out what he said):

“In addition to the grittier, edgy elements, Scott praised Cassandra’s creative storytelling and her strong voice throughout.

“They’re really original,” Scott said of the series. “The characters are strong and funny, and it’s just a really interesting take on all that stuff.”

 Yes!!! He’s bringing the humor. Hallelujah peeps, he is going to ROCK this movie. Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait! *bouncing*

Midnight Carriage Renderings Revealed by Lily(AsClaryFray)!

AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

That’s my first real girl scream on here, so keep it legit. I’m not a ditzy fan girl. I’m a smart one!

You have to scream when you see this…why?

  1. The movie is tangible! Lily has always been tangibly gorgeous, but this shows the hard work they’ve been putting into effects and the set. Holy crow people!! For all those wonks out there who keep nay-saying that they are really going to shoot. LOOKIE SEE!!!??
  2. It’s freakin’ awesome! I LOVE the way they have designed the carriage!! It is spot on in my book (and yours consequently….we’re reading the same one *hee*) Do you love the way it’s been designed? Is it what you pictured?
  3. This seems to be the beginning of a loooong relationship with Lily as she gets deeper into the film. When releasing this, she said it was ‘one ‘ of the renderings they gave her to look over. Yippers!! I LOVE updates. Don’t you??

Mortal Instruments Trilogy and Infernal Devices Trilogy are ALL Optioned

This afternoon on Twitter, Cassandra Clare shared some amazing new info! When asked if just City of Bones was optioned, or all 3 TMI books, she responed that not only all three TMI books, but all three Infernal Devices Books!! (all by the same production company btw) Woot Woot!

This is blasting good news. HOWEVER, Cassie’s following tweets made sure to clarify what Optioning really means. She links to allycarter.com (where you can read scads of info on how books are made into movies:)):

“A film option is like putting the book in layaway.  They aren’t buying the right to make it into a movie; they’re buying the right to THINK ABOUT making it into a movie.

They don’t have to make it–not at all.  But they have a set period of time (usually a year or 18 months) to think about it”

I can’t imagine Hollywood is going to need much more time to think with all the roucous we’ve been creating. We are sublime fans. Non? This is such an exciting time for Clare fans. She is incredible! I absolutely love how she’s so open with information to help us understand the process with the movies, releases, publishing, book tours, hot make-outs in dark alleys…..love her!

City of Bones Filming Starts Early April

BIG NEWS!!!!

In an interview with MTV News Lily Collins revealed she starts work on ‘City of Bones‘ early April!! (This means Jace will be announced SOON! Stay calm. *goes ballistic*)

She also agreed that Alex Pettyfer would be a “good fit” for the role of Jace! After talking about the huge push for Alex from fans,

“I trust a lot of the fans in their opinions. I’ve heard Logan Lerman thrown out for Simon.”

And her thoughts on Jace’s character?

“Jace is an interesting one. He’s incredibly charming. He’s savvy in that he knows he’s charming and he works that charm, and he knows he’s attractive and can work his way into any situation. But at the same time, he does have insecurities. A lot of actors may not want to show a side of themselves being insecure. That’s what Jace does, and I feel a lot of people can relate to him. A lot of guys do feel insecure, but don’t want to admit it. A lot of the fans has been tweeting that [they want] Alex Pettyfer. I don’t know the process.”

We love you too Lily Collins!!!! It’s so stellar that we have been heard! Keep it up fan-bees!!
