Lily Collins Talks Wondercon 2013

Woo hoo so Mortal Instruments will be at Wondercon 2013…I am so envious I can’t tell you!  Lily says they will have a sneak peak, a new trailer and new poster….who wants to take bets that Lily and Jamie will grace the new poster or maybe  Jaimie’s chest like the book cover!!

As for the video I have no idea why it doesn’t play right when you click on it.. If you make it fullscreen you can see it.  Looks to me like Lily made the video recently,  when she went to the Chanel party.

Things are starting to happen guys I am getting more psyched by the day!

I agree with Hero. An MTV brawl cannot be taken as a vote of confidence. Last year, Cosmopolis beat out the Hunger Games, and we all know how well that did in the box office. The top grossing movie of 2012 was The Avengers and that was out in the second round. A strong online presence does not guarantee success.

LOL! Exactly! Cosmopolis over The Avengers and The Hunger Games shows just how much validity these silly internet polls have. Most of the polls are just set up to increase traffic to the site anyway.

Nice to see some interesting responses about the TMI movie prospects. It’s hard to have discussion on other sites as they are mostly full of girls squeeing about their “feels” over various pairings.

i cannot wait! and i think this will appeal to adults, young adults, teens, some children and girls and guys. i loved beatiful creatures and read the first book and while it didn’t fail, it didn’t as well as I or others hoped though it was a great movie. but hey it can be hard to compete with a bruce willis movie. but lly looks great!

I hope TMI does well but I haven’t really seen any hype at all for it outside of the internet fandom and the late August release date they have chosen does not indicate much confidence. You can’t take things like MTV movie Brawls seriously. Just because a fandom has a presence on the internet doesn’t transfer to real life. Spring Breakers beat Iron Man 3 and Percy Jackson 2 beat Thor 2 in the MTV Brwal but realistically there is no way in hell SB or PJ 2 are going to make more money than Thor or freaking Iron Man at the box office.

Sorry to say but Beautiful Creatures did fail. Die Hard is irrelevant as it was release as counter programming to the Bruce Willis movie and wasn’t aiming for the same audience. Beautiful Creatures hasn’t even managed to recoup it’s initial production cost internationally after a month which is very poor and it looks like it will struggle to manage even that by the end of it’s international run. The studio and producers will lose a lot of money on it.

All the upcoming YA films are worried at the moment. The only guaranteed success is The Hunger Games.

Finally someone who talks some realistic sense. People think I am deliberately being mean when I speak realistically about the film. I hope I am wrong, but from what I have noticed thus far, I just don’t see this film being all that great. There are some details, that even though they are small, they are well neglected. You know a film is well done when the production goes far and beyond to make it as perfect as possible. Even with the tiniest details such as…. eyebrow shape. The Mummy is an example. Rachel Weisz’s eyebrows look nothing like Evelynn’s in real life. Back during the time in which the film took place, women’s eyebrows were practically pencil thin, and very long, stretching completely across the brow bone. It was a very popular style back in the 30′s. They even made sure her eyebrows were correct for the time the film took place. I look at the production of this film, and I look at the runes, and I see the same patterns being repeated throughout their bodies. That’s small detail that needs attention, believe it or not. Permanent runes wouldn’t need to be put on the body twice. Even if the runes didn’t leave behind scars, these kids have been battling supernatural forces their whole lives, they should look a lot more roughed up, than the film has made them. Even with Isabelle’s beauty, she is described in the books as heavily scarred. She may be beautiful, and hold so many characteristics such as loving to do Clary’s hair, and make-up. Isabelle does not come off as a Barbie, people for some reason keep perceiving her that way, but she is not. She is like the Lara Croft of the group, except she looks more realistic. LOL :P Like I said in the beginning, I am NOT trying to be mean, just realistic, and… well…. Not follow anything blindly? I don’t know if that’s the way to put it, but it’s the best I can think of. I get that things will be different in films no matter what, that is not the issue at hand here. What’s the issue is the certain things they choose to change. Such as Valentine. It’s not his hair, that bother’s me. It’s the fact that they seemed to have changed his character completely. I could be wrong of course. It’s a bit too early to tell. But the way someone is dressed, and the way someone carries themselves is usually always a mirror of how others see them. Valentine’s character is very manipulative, but also very appropriate. If Cassandra Clare decided to rewrite the entire story just for fun, and made the whole thing Human, not at all supernatural, or fantasy related, It’s obvious that Valentine would be either a Lawyer, or a very powerful Corporation Owner, such as Apple, Microsoft or something like that. It is true that the most richest men in the world, are indeed very powerful. When you have unlimited money, you can do almost anything. These people break the law, commit murders, and get away with it, because they BUY their way out of it. They MANIPULATE people. They are where they are, BECAUSE of their talents in manipulation. Valentine is the MASTER of manipulation, or else Jocelyn, Luke, Maryse, and everyone else would not have fallen for his crap. All cult leaders are masters of manipulation and mind control. Hitler, Manson, Applewhite etc etc. The Valentine I see in this film, looks like a 35 year old going through his mid-life crisis early. There is NOTHING intimidating about him. As a matter of fact, more people would probably die from bad mouthing him, than from his manipulation. He’d get angry because a bunch of punk kids are giving him lip, so he’d kill them. Whereas the REAL Valentine wouldn’t need to act on impulse, he would have everyone doing whatever he wanted. Before he disposed of them, because he no longer needed them. This is like Putting Voldemort in a Leather Jacket and Combat boots, I am laughing right now just thinking about it. The Hunger Games was a very well-done movie, I read the book afterwards, and I must say the BIGGEST disappointment in those films is Peeta. They completely changed his character. In the book, he was strong, caring, courageous, and warm. The movie made him completely the opposite. I sat through the whole thing hating the kid. I kept thinking, what does the fandom see in his character? I hear girls brag and brag and brag about Peta, and all I see is a little s*t-head. All I could come up with at the time was… it’s true…. women really are attracted to jerks. Whereas, with Jace, I can understand why girls love him so much. Yeah he’s a jerk, but his personality helps you see past that. He can funny at times, caring, and kind. When I saw THG movie, I felt that Peta’s personality was very nonexistent, and if there was a personality there, he gave me no reason to like him… not even a little bit. I enjoyed Gale’s Character far more than Peta’s. He had a personality, he was funny, caring. Peta was a little pussy. When I read the book, I was completely surprised. Peta is much likable in the book. The rest of the movie was pretty good, but Peta was an ultimate fail. So when fans of this fandom say that they are worried what the movie will tell people who have’t read the books yet. They have every right to be worried. The Hunger Games movie was good, and it STILL gave me a bad impression. Sorry this is so long ladies. It’s hard to get your point across through text. lol :P But I am hoping people take what I said to consideration. :)

Yes, she clearly filmed this little video before she went to the Chanel event a few weeks ago. Her hair, make-up and clothes are all the same.

I wonder if Wondercon is the best place for this to debut? WonderCon tends to be more male fanboys and isn’t as commercialised as Comic-con and that type of audience can be brutal when the target audience is not interested. Although this might be a clue as to how they plan to market this film rather than going solely for the fangirl new Twilight demographic after the failure of “Beautiful Creatures”.

hun, that would make sense where she filmed and did you see my comment above? i think tmi will do well as it’s getting much hype, did well in the mtv brawl and we have a passionate, devoted and growing fan base which is alot! plus it’s been getting alot of attention!
