Shadowhunter Radio Song: Torture by Les Friction

I thought this song was kind of amazing when I listened to it.  It really reminded me of Valentine and Jace’s relationship in the books.  The video pictures are not exactly what I would like to see but I thought the lyrics and the song were amazing.  It gives the impression of an EPIC sound, which I have always envisioned for this movie.   Please tell me what you all think!  I couldn’t find just a lyric video with no pictures.  This is a press release on what they are saying about this group.

Brian May says “NOBODY, but NOBODY, out there, is doing stuff like Les Friction is doing. Nobody dares!” Nic Harcourt simply states “EPIC!” and selected the first single “Torture” as his #1 song of 2011. And finally, Les Friction’s tune “Louder Than Words” spearheaded the marketing campaign for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Pt 2 which became the #1 OPENING BOX OFFICE FILM of all time.

Les Friction cannot be described…. it must be heard to be understood. A neo-classical rock band with roots reaching deep back into iconic bands like ELO, AC/DC and Queen but equally grounded in current bands like Muse, Radiohead and Coldplay.

This isn’t music for the faint of heart. You will LOSE YOUR BREATH listening…. and when you think it can’t get more EPIC and INTENSE, it will. So grab your best headphones, turn off the lights and take the ride of your life…. this is Les Friction (pronounced “less”).

It was good but I just realized a great song for Will and I never even realized it before. That song Break the Habit by Linkin Park. Idk if anyone has ever suggested it but I think it is so perfect for when he can start to break down the emotional wall when he’s told there’s no curse. Totally perfect; every single line.

Yes I love Imagine Dragons also! I have posted on them before and I want them on the soundtrack for sure. I just really thought this was a unique sound. Which I want for the movie to set it apart. Music can really enhance a film and I can’t wait to see what Gabriel Yared brings to the table for this film!

Very cool. My first thought when listening to it before reading the commentary, was that it reminded me a bit of Radiohead. Which is pretty cool. Then I read the comparison to MUSE, Radiohead, and Coldplay, which are great bands to be compared to. I’m a huge fan of MUSE and Radiohead (in fact the mere mention of MUSE puts a smile on my face). I would love to see either of those bands on the soundtrack. Check out Muse’s “Con-Science”. It’s a B-side track on the Muscle Museum EP, so we’re talking very early on in their career. It still blows my mind that they were so good at such a young age. The song starts with a haunting piano and then builds to an incredible space rock finish. And Matt Bellamy’s voice… I think he must be part angel, it is so gorgeous! Also check out “Isolated System” off their new album The 2nd Law. It’s an instrumental track with a great piano intro that gives you goose bumps and then it builds to a beautiful electro/dance finish with a choir! I get chills! But of course they were a part of the Twilight soundtrack so it’s probably best to go with new artists. Anyhow now that I’ve gushed about my favorite band I have to say the Les Friction song has a great feel. With that mix of quiet moments to lure the listener in and then exploding in that grandiose intensity of classic rock. It definately gives the vibe of an epic showdown. Very cool.
