I love the lyrics in this song. The beginning reminds me of when Clary finds out exactly what she is in City of Bones, especially the first few phrases. ” For this life I think she knows There’s nothing left to show. Lose a faith in a world and the seeds can’t be resown. Curtains drawn she looks behind no magic left to find the truth you’re not supposed to know her eyes saw long ago.” She feels betrayed by her mother from concealing her identity, and the fact that Magnus was told to keep her from seeing the supernatural images that shadowhunters can see, when she was young she every now and then thought she would see something when the spell was starting to wear off. Then it seems to take on a theme which relates to Jace: ” The blood I taste, my own so if there’s nothing left to hold let the angels take a soul” Fuel was very popular back in the early 2000′s.
