I think Lily’s hair looks way redder in these shots than they did in last weeks shots. And I prefer Jamie in this regular teenager black jeans and black tee. This is the type of oufit I always pictured Jace in..the shadowhunter gear reminds me of Blade. I get the feeling we are going to have tons of shots to get excited about

Well it’s been a while since I’ve been on this site, got tired of the majority sayin how much of an improvement they saw in Jamie, which in my eyes was obsolete! Every pic I see of the dude just continues to ruin the film that’s not even made yet. I’ve praised these books to soooo many that have never read it & all they’ll ever b able to go on is this film, & Jaime is such a wrong casting choice for jace. It’s like when I told people about the hunger games & was telling everyone how great peta was & then they saw the movie & were like, what was I thinking peta was weak & not attractive. I’m like ya wrong casting, he didn’t look like he could even compete with gales character in looks & to top it off petas acting was blah. Just another awesome book these film creators got wrong due to casting. Shoot, who r these casting agents anyway, cause they suck!
I understand,I have to agree with you for the most part. However, I am still excited nonetheless. I still have that little incline of hope that it’ll be at least decent, so I’m willing to see it. Besides, even if they were casting and doing everything to my liking, I still wouldn’t be giving them any of my money. Hard times in America, can’t afford to see a 20 dollar movie. That’s why I got my internet, and my 2 dollar movie theater. So none of my money, either way, will be going to box office. And this is coming from someone who wants to produce one day. I just can’t afford the prices of everyday pleasure anymore. remember back in the day, pizza was the cheap thing you did when you were too lazy to go out, or go shopping? SO you just ordered pizza? Yeah, now can’t even do that anymore. Simple pleasures now cost too much. So sorry to say, the most I’ll be spending on this movie is 2 bucks. If the movie sucks, well… at aleast I only spent 2 bucks. If the movie is great, HEY I got a deal. lol. I just don’t find Jamie attract… AT ALL. I’m sorry, I still think he looks like he has that extra chromosome going on… wait… just to make it clear I mean Down Syndrome. And I pictured Jace to be attractive enough to gain the sexual air from everyone in the room, not just a few people in the room. I’m sure Jamie is a good actor, but on the attractive level he gets to hang out with all the other unattractive awesome actors of hollywood. I.e. Anthony Hopkins, Steve Buscemi, and Danny DeVito. lol. It’s not like Hollywood hasn’t had their set of odd balls before.
And I TOTALLY agree about the Hunger Games thing. I just started reading the book. I felt the producers did a pretty decent job even after reading, but what they did with Peta’s character is BEYOND ridiculous. They made him weak, and cold, and just plain retarded. In the book he’s strong, loyal, very smart, and caring. They COMPLETELY changed his entire character in the movie. He wasn’t even freaking Peta, they should’ve just gave the character a different name, because he seriously was NOT peta. And it was obviously he wasn’t a blonde, and yes, like you said, crappy acting. I swear I am the ONLY one who pictured my OWN imagination when it comes to Jace. I have a person in my head that looks NOTHING like any actor that exists on the face of this planet. I never saw Alex P as Jace, he was just the ONLY one I was willing to deal with when people were throwing out dream casts WAY before this movie was even in the talks. I have an image in my head perfectly. His eyes, the shape of his nose, the way his dimples pop when he smiles. I mean I SERIOUSLY created my own person in my head. So in my opinion, of course this movie is going to suck. Because NO ONE can be Jace. I’m sorry, but NO ONE can. I totally agree!!!!! I think I’m going to look into becoming a casting agent. Anyone can do it.LOL
That is why there are 100′s of movies to see during the year. You can pick out what you want to see and not see what you don’t. We all have ideas of what actors we like and which ones we don’t and what roles we want to see them in and which we don’t. When you see the previews you can decide once and for all. Also, thank goodness, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
And you don’t need to get butt hurt. I said I was excited, and JC isn’t and thats her choice. It’s also my God given right as an American citizen to not agree with bringing books into a movie. It’s also my right to feel that not any single actor can pull off a simple idea. It’s my right, and to write a passive aggressive comment that basically says in many words that we’re cruel and terrible people for having our own mind is seriously obnoxious. With this election, and people hating on each other over the stupidest crap, I have had enough. As long as we think differently one of us should burn in hell for it? Right? As long as I don’t find Jamie attractive and don’t like what you like, and don’t eat what you eat, and read what you read I am a piece of crap right? Whatever…. So done….

I am just tired of everyone hating for… well… no reason at all. “Is this where you want to be when Jesus comes back?” I am seriously just extra sensitive tonight, because this is not the only situation where I experience a judgmental comment. People have been saying cruel and terrible things all night and it’s really starting to make me worry about humanity! My comment on here was mostly positive about the movie. I am still excited to see it, I just have finally let go of the fact that Jamie is not what I imagined for Jace. But just because I have gotten over it doesn’t mean that I HAVE to find him sexy, I HAVE to like him for Jace…. uhhhh no I don’t. I think he’s a decent actor, nothing more. It’s just like the new Silent Hill movie, almost all video game movies suck too, but I am still excited to see how it turns out. Different from the Resident Evil movies, they have made about 4 or 5 of them, and they ALL suck, so therefore I am done getting my hopes up. This is only the second Silent Hill movie, so… I am still in positive mode. But I still try not to get my expectations so high. But of course I am a piece of crap for thinking like that. No need to throw a tantrum just because we’re all disagreeing with your opinion. You know what you remind me of? I used to know a little girl who was a BRAT if you didn’t do anything she wanted she would SCREAM at the top of her lungs, so loud I swear the neighbors thought she was getting raped. THAT’s what you sound like, a spoiled rotten child who screams at the top of her lungs just because someone told you no….. I’m tired of all the hate on people JUST BECAUSE their opinion is different than yours DEAL WITH IT!
You’re right, the hate that seems to be flying around right now is ten fold, and I do think the election thing has everyone on edge. WHICH, is still no reason to be on edge. People so cruel to each other, and saying hateful words is not going to make the world a better place. as a matter of fact, last I checked it makes it a dark, and depressing place.

If you are going to get that upset that some people don’t agree with you about finding someone attractive, or just plane having a different opinion than you need to grow up. Because seriously. Your comment screams snobby behavior. I came on here a few weeks ago and saw Scrottie and that Edward Team chick talking… THATS how you should be conversing. The Edward Team Chick (I don’t remember her name lol) Said something like “I get why you feel that way and I respect your opinion, glad to see that you are excited.” or something like that. This snippy stuck up behavior only causes hate amongst others and the reasons are just sad. You want to hate on someone, hate the guy that shot all those people in Aurora, CO. At least you have an actual reason to be hating on someone like him….

No no Scrottie I wasn’ replying to you actually to JC!!!! What I meant as a reply to that is really that it is only a movie afterall and we have a lot to pick and choose from and all have different tastes. I actually agree with much of what you had to say.
1.) Whether or not your comment was for JC or me it still had so many layers of annoyance in it.
2.)”Thank goodness beauty is in the eye of the beholder” it was like you were calling us superficial or shallow for not finding Jamie attractive. If you really didn’t mean any harm, than why did you say that?
3.) if it really was meant for JC than next time make that more clear, (i.e @JC) because I commented, and so did Sue, so who the heck were you talking to exactly? It’s not like you commented at the same time as Sue and I, because posted this comment about a week ago.
4.) Even if it truly was meant for JC the fact that you were a little annoyed that one person stood up and acted a little different is still not fair nor right. Maybe I am just being a little sensitive because I was told the same night I read this that I was hating on haters by someone…. does that make sense? I was experiencing people who were expressing hate towards people who were only talking about a specific taste in something they like. It wasn’t even anything serious like Obama, Romney or Obortion, it was about what our favorite MUSIC was, and people were becoming incredibly cruel over a little disgreement in taste. SO I was little upset with the Human world
5.) You cannot tell me that you weren’t getting moody because someone wasn’t on the Movie Shipper Train. Yeah sure, JC was more harsh than I was about the movie, but for God sakes, what if someone very close and dear to you used to read and write stories to you as a child. You grew up your whole life with this person just making up stories, and read them to you before bed every night when you were a child. Years later, after that person is long gone a stranger wants to come into your life and change all those beautiful stories that you grew up with. It’s like going through a death in the family, it’s like mourning. So to be perfectly honest, and this is ONLY my opinion, the true dye hard fans of these books are the ones who don’t want it to change. I’m sorry, but their compassion and values are so so so so strong, and it takes a lot to be that strong, especially a lot for what’s going on today. If they feel that strongly about a book, than can you imagine what they fight for when it comes to true hardships? I honestly think that all the people that the “Shippers” call “negative” are actually showing just how much they are good people. Because some of the loudest, opinionated people I know, have the biggest hearts, and have already sacrificed a lot. So all I am asking is for people to not judge so much, and not be so hateful towards someone just because of a small difference. It is the same thing as prejudice.
Scrottie, I really need to clear this up once and for all. I honestly only replied (incorrectly) to JC. I did not realize it was a week ago. When I said beauty is in the eye of the beholder I meant the entire cast the movie the script all of it. I too loved the books and hope that the movie is not a disappointment. I was not hating on anyone. I am not at all a hateful person. And certainly not you.
I realize you don’t like the casting for Jace, but I personally think Jamie is a good choice. He and Lily get along very well, which is a must for the movie. If you hate the cast so much, stop complaining about something you can’t change and just don’t watch the movie, simple as that. And by criticizing the movie cast, you are also criticizing Cassie. Same with The Hunger Games. Suzanne Collins and Cassandra Clare both took part in the casting for their movie, and they liked it. It’s their stories, after all. And yes, you just said that Cassandra Clare and Suzanne Collins suck because you don’t like their opinions for their own characters.

what’s up with you people who comment on 20 year old stuff???? You are only opening up old scars. Read the dates of comments before writing one. And also… telling people that they are hating on Cassie or whatever just because they have an opinion is prejudice, and apparently you are intolerable of others who think differently than you. I suggest you crawl back up your mother’s (offensive term) until you learn how to deal with the fact that the world is full of trillions of people who are all different. I really hate Jamie in the role of Jace. In the book, Jace is muscular. Jamie’s body is far from. If you have seen him in Camelot shirtless – it is not a sight to see again. He does not have the body to play Jace.
If you look at Cassandra Clare’s website today you will see a picture of Kevin’s and Godfrey’s hands. Not hard to tell which is which!!!!!

And for the record Scrottie is a very beloved member of this site, whom if she has the time would be a writer as well. Please refrain from attacking her or anyone else on this site for that matter. We all have a common thread we love these books and want the movie to be a success. If you don’t want to read someone’s comments because you are not interested in what they have to say don’t read it when you see their screen name, but please do not attack them for voicing their opinions…..
I agree with all of you about Kevin’s hair. It makes him look much too old. Should be softer looking.

When they say “stupid phone” they are referring to the smart phone they are using to post. usually those phones have an “auto correct” function which corrects the spelling of a word, unfortunately it usually corrects it to a word the person did not intend to use and makes their response sound wrong.
I thought that the runes were supposed to be smaller but the one’s on Jace’s neck from the Day 1 pictures were huge. And also where Lily is like getting ran over by the bike, was that a scene or something just happen?
Maybe the pic of Jamie is old, from the other day. Because that isn’t casual t-shirt and jeans, that’s gear. And they don’t film the movie in order, but it looks like they started it from the very beginning when she’s running home to get to her mom. Jace may or may not have been filmed in that scene yet. Cause I think he was wearing casual clothes when Clary saw him in the cafe… can’t remember though, and I aint lookin it up. lol
So HOPEFULLY they changed him since then…. if not… I don’t know. Like GeeGee said, he better act his little butt off. Because I personally don’t see any significance in any acting I’ve seen him do so far. Nothing bad, just nothing that made me go “DAMN!” So he better be a good actor. Like I said before though, I personally don’t care. I just hope it works out for other reasons…

i really like her hair in the picture with the bike. and her clothes there too, it’s very much how i pictured clary dressing. i don’t mind her hair overall, i think it’s more that she’s looking paler than i expected (the dark eyebrows don’t help), but i guess they can always fix that in postprod with some color balance, so i’m not worried.
i pretty much like jamie’s look so far– i wish his hair had been a little more layered but otherwise i have no complaints. yeah, the pants are a little blade, but i don’t really mind; it’s pretty much the way imagined shadowhunter gear would be. and the boy does look good in black.
I like Lily’s hair for the most part but like Scrottie, I wish it was pouffier and more orangy.
Kevin’s hair? I have to say I imagined Alec with a different hair style…with bangs or something. Something that would make him look younger because he looked 30 in that pic. Kevin can look younger but with different hair for sure.
As for Jamie, I saw an episode of Camelot tonight and his hair as Arthur looks no different than he has now as Jace. Aside from having a preference for short hair, my biggest complaint is that it seems they didn’t change Jamie’s look at all.
BUT, I have to say Jamie’s acting is what could save him in my eyes. He was good on Camelot so I could see him as Jace if he acts his butt off, which I hope and think he will.
i hear you about kevin. i always pictured alec having a more emo-ish hairdo, and i think that could make him look a lot younger, but… sigh, i can live with it, i guess. i’m still crossing my fingers that that’s his “shadowhunting” look and they’ll stop slicking his hair back when he’s in civilian attire, but even if they don’t, i can live with it.
Yeah I am not understanding why they don’t work on his hair. I personally think Jamie’s hair in particular isn’t healthy because he’s obsessed with trying to look like a blonde Tim burton, which is alright for him, but not for Jace. So as a director or makeup artist that would’ve been one of the first things I’d work on with him because I think other than the way Jamie dresses, his hair is what makes him so unattractive. It just never looks washed, combed or soft. It always looks brittle, dry, and nappy. One of the biggest descriptions of Jace is his hair. It’s constantly described as silky smooth, thick and curly. So considering Jamie is the least attractive actor I would’ve worked on that immediately. it’s not to be mean to him or anything, but generally speaking he is the least attractive playing the most attractive character. So I figured they would see that and trully work on it. And I kind of find him to be a little…. Stuck on himself from what I’ve seen in his tweets… He may have refused and they didn’t even try to persuay him. There was so much controversy after he was cast and people were sending him bad tweets. He could be acting rebellious. Which I get, but he’s still proving those people right by refusing to change his hair style. If that’s even the case. It’s just an idea that’s popping into my head. I just find it odd that they didn’t even perm it or something since jace is supposed to have curly/wavy hair. Can you imagine how torn apart he would be after Stacy And Clint got finished with him from What Not To wear???? How ironic that Jace watches that show while livin with Magnus in City Of Ashes. Hehehe Stacy would be like “it’s called a brush! Use it!” XP haha
I totally agree. The actors from Twilight, Hunger Games and Harry Potter put more effort into looking their part for the first film that’s for sure. Seriously, Jamie looks like Jamie in Sweeney Todd, Camelot. Twilight, etc. The only times I’ve seen him with different hair is in War in Wintertime and The Prisoner.
And how about the earring? I think he still wears it. Was it a director or Jamie decision. Jace is supposed to be a bad ass and rebellious but there are ways to achieve that without keeping the unkept, messy hair and an earring.
Like said, I hope his acting chops will make me forget who he is in real life.
OMG I am so excited for this, is it healthy for me to be shaking this much looking at all the pics. Oh god. I need to find out when and if theres go the the premiere concerts and stuff. Aww I didn’t get to see Clary’s neon green shoes, oh well, her shoes are pretty epic, the showdown hunter shoes look terrifying. I want them. Loving the runes as well. Dude, Blade is one of the best vampire films of all time. Wesley Snipes would kick Edward’s out of the ball park any day!!!! Screw Twilight!!! HElllooooooooo Blade! lol The outfits do remind me of Blade… perhaps there is some hope after all?

hahahah Jersey, I actually think it looks less red here, and more red in all the other pics, but I think it’s the lighting. I’m fine with her hair, it could’ve been slightly more orange, but it’s okay. I mostly wished they would’ve layered it. I am actually one of the rare few who didn’t picture bangs, not that I would mind. But I pictured her hair layered, and slightly bushy? Well… not bushy, thicker. Cause CC said her hair is more wavy than a head of thick curls like the way julia roberts use to look. I just pictured it to be really really thick, but not overly curly. but for the most part her hair is fine. Zegers and Jamie are my disappointments, but acting could go a long way. Maybe not for me, but at least for everyone else. I don;t think I’ll end up liking it all that much, but I still hope most enjoy it.
