So here are some pictures which I believe were taken August 14th in Toronto. Lily’s hair looks sort of red in the first one. I assume that is the way they are going to keep it for the film.  Realistically it would look  fake to go red red with her hair seeing as her eyebrows are so prominent on her face.  I like the color of Jamie’s hair, but I don’t see the bangs we were all hoping for. Let’s hope that’s not his final look too.

Or maybe they just went out for yogart??….the whole point of the post was to show Lily’s hair…definately not to start this up again…trust me the horse is dead please stop beating it!

    • Andy

My point exactly. And maybe they’re Friends with Benefits? If they are, it’s entirely their business and not ours. Besides, it’s not like a good percent of the Y Generation hasn’t at least tried it. And not that the other Generations haven’t either, I am just going by my own. To be honest; I have done it. Sure it aint exactly responsible, hell maybe even slutty. But I don’t judge, because we’re young and immature as it is. So these guys are around the same age as I am, so I past no judgement on their behavior. I say if she posts again, and if it mentions anything about publicity stunts… delete it!

  • Jennifer

Oh look, it’s everyone’s new favorite PR couple. He still looks like a freaking girl. And red hair my a**.

    • Jennifer

Someone called him a FAG down below. I just think he’s been horribly cast, is ugly and girly looking and a PR idiot. But I’ve never called him a fag, so please check yourself.

      • Andy

Josh called him a fag, not me. So I don’t know why you’re telling me to watch myself when those weren’t even my words. But I agree with him a hundred percent. He looks liks a fag. But that’s not the point. The point is I was not at all attacking you for having an opinion. And to accuse me of attacking is just ridiculous because I only said to you 2 simple words. You’re the one going off. I am telling you to go away because everyone is sick of you talking about the PR crap! So shut the ef up and drop it. You sound like a broken record for Christ’s sake! Post an opinion, you hate it, you love it, whatever… but SHUT UP about the PR nonsense. Why do you even care???? It’s stupid! I don’t know why I have to keep repeating myself with you, but if you would just stop letting it make you get so riled up maybe publicity stunts wouldn’t happen. It’s because of people like YOU why it exists the fact that you can’t post on a single website without bringing it up is the REASON why it exists in the first place. You’re a hypocrite. Admit it, you like the drama publicity stunts cause or else you wouldn’t talk about it so much. So ummmmmm yeah… just so you know… you sound like a freaking drama queen. And it’s pathetic. so I will say it again…. GO. AWAY!

  • sarah leigh

They are probably just slowly dying it to make it look as natural as possible. I’m not going to complain until I see how she looks when shooting begins.

  • i can tell you, from personal experience, that going from dark brown hair to a natural-looking red is pretty damn hard. not that i’m saying they can’t do it, i’m just saying it’s a process. this could just be step one. i’m keeping my fingers crossed.

that said… technically speaking, they don’t HAVE to. lena headey’s a brunette, and as long as the two of them match, there’s nothing really so important about clary’s hair that they just HAVE to dye it. as much as i’d love movie!clary to look like book!clary does, for sentimental fangirl reasons, it’s not a dealbreaker for me.

and about jamie… IDK, i like him. i wish they’ll do his hair a little differently, but i think for the most part i have a different mental image of jace than most of you guys around here do, so i’m okay with them not messing with jamie all that much.

    • JoshQ

Well, I guess that’s your opinion. To me, and a few others that practically saying that “Yeah we can dye her hair. Yeah it’s a million percent possible, but… ehhhh… we wont do it.” It doesn’t upset me just because Clary is SUPPOSED to be a ginger, it upsets me because that means they really aren’t even trying. It means they are half-assing this thing. If it’s one thing I hate more than anyting is when people half-ass SH*t. as a Manager I consider myself a pretty cool guy, most at work like me, but if you are going to half-ass something, you are damn right I am going to rip you a whole new asswhole! Maybe even right you up. Same exact thing goes for a movie, that’s half-assing if they don’t dye the hair, there are A LOT of directors out there who agree, and you know why they agree, because they’re GOOD at what they do, and they LOVE it. Cameron would NOT put up with them trying to back out of her being red… uhhh…. hello. He made for damn sure that Winslet with redheaded, he was CRUEL to that girl while filming Titanic, but it wont 11 academy awards, and earned even more than it took to make it. I’m sorry I don’t mean to corner you, I am just saying that yeah maybe Clary doesn’t have to be redheaded, but that it is seriously some of the simplest tasks they’ll need to make while making this film, apart from wardrobe. So Yes. That will be ridiculous if they don’t do that, because it IS possible. and it’s seriously so simple compared to the many things they do on a set….

So many people keep exaggerating about the hair thing. Her hair shouldn’t (notice the word shouldn’t) fall out. Trust me I have been damaging my hair for years! Bleach bleach bleach bleach, Manic panic, manic panic, manic panic, flat iron, flat iron, flat iron, flair iron MANY different color hair dyes. It took a WHILE for my hair to finally look like sh*t. So last year I had a New Years Revolution to stop damaging my hair, with ANY bleaching jobs, or ANY dye jobs, AND I don’t use heat tools such as Flat Irons and Blow Dryers… AT ALL!!! Now I know everyone’s hair is different, therefore everyone’s hair has different reactions. BUT I am biracial and my hair is KINKY KINKY KINKY!!! So it is sooooooo sensitive, and sooooooo easy to break that I have to put CONSTANT maintenance on it every single day. My regimen consists of moisturizing it, wrapping it up in a silk scarf. OR I braid every single part of my head to help trap moisture…. and believe me… it sucks and it hurts to do that. Or I twist out my entire head…. also hurts. I have to moisturize it every day, and every night. And I STILL put it in a silk scarf to protect it at night. I don’t wrap it because that means I brush out my curls and then it frizzes…. soooo… I do the crappy part taking care of my hair. Now I plan on buying hair extensions to twist longer lengths and so that it’ll stay a few months as a “Protective Style” It’ll lock in moisture and help my hair grow. But seriously bleaching my hair, or dying it black, or even red at one point my hair didn’t fall out, it dried up real bad, and broke in some places. No it didn’t look all that attractive, but not even a month after I stopped messing with my hair so much, it looked healthy again, but my goal is to let my hair grow, so I wont stop doing this once it’s been a year. My goal is to have my hair reach the top of my butt like the it was when I was little. Then when I reach that length…….

I might bleach it again lol… it’ll probably be 6 years from now so we’ll see…

P.S. and I agree with Josh, half-assing is another term for being lazy, if they didn’t dye her hair, the only other explanation would be that her scalp didn’t take and she’s allergic, which we all know she is NOT. So… if they don’t dye her hair they’re just being lazy. Again as someone who wants to do this in my future, I want to do it a million percent, not half ass it! I would personally walk up to Wal-Mart and by cheap shit off a shelf and force the make up artist to make do with that! That’s how I would be as a Directory. “You don’t like it? FIRED Get the f*ck out!” I’ll go Ari Gold on your ass. hahaha XP

      • well, i don’t know about everyone else, but i can tell you i’m not exaggerating. i dye my hair from dark brown to red at least three times a year (plus use blowers and flat irons and do all that stuff you also mentioned) and yeah, i would consider that it DOES damage my hair a lot. i’ve had a serious problem with hair loss, particularly in recent years. not that repeated bleaching is going to make you immediately go bald or anything, but it’s true that it can be quite damaging. and lily IS a celebrity so her image is worth a lot more than mine, that’s for sure.

again, it’s not that i don’t want lily to have red hair in the movie– i do. cassie describes clary to be a redhead and i think they should stick to that if they really want to bring to life the world cassie created in her books. i’m just saying, objectively speaking, it’s not NEEDED. daniel radcliffe didn’t have harry’s green eyes, but he didn’t need them… it’s not like he shot green laser beams out of his eyes or anything, so all he needed was for his eyes to match his mother’s (which they actually didn’t in the flashbacks in the last movie… which i thought was hilarious). the lack of harry’s green eyes did not immediately DESTROY the harry potter movies. similarly, it’s not like clary’s red hair gives her magic powers. it doesn’t have to be red, it just has to be similar to jocelyn’s.

if they do decide to not dye her hair at all, or just not go AS red as we expect them to go, they must have their reasons (which i’m pretty sure they’ll get asked about eventually). they’re not just sitting there, going “hmm, let’s see what OTHER ways we can think of to screw over the fans.” i mean, come on.

(PS: you know how you guys keep bringing up how the “great” directors like spielberg and james cameron– the latter of whom i actually have no love for– are good because they’re cruel with the people they work with? well, i can’t speak for anyone else, but all that’s doing is lowering the image i previously had of them. i don’t think that’s what you wanted, but that’s how it’s making me feel. jsyk).

        • Scrottie

Cameron was the ONLY one who was cruel to his cast. Spielberg had GREAT reason to fire Megan Fox. And The reason why they’re so great is because the films have bought us 90′s kids such wonderful memories. So you cannot base your opinion on their films just because they may be mean sometimes. It just the way the industry is. WATCH. ENTOURAGE. For the millionth time, you can’t understand the way the industry works if you REALLY don’t know how it works. And if you didn’t already know that Cameron is a tyrant, than that truly means you don’t really know how it works. Because anyone who keeps their tabs on films and their directors know about the way he is on set. And personally, as an actress it’s your job to give all that you can give. If you can’t handle it than stop acting. Again WATCH ENTOURAGE. The show is VERY detailed about how it works in Hollywood and how it’s an HONOR to be in a film produced by Spielberg or Cameron, which not only is it an honor, but it is almost a GUARANTEE that the film will be a success. And it’s not like it’s haven’t happened before where the filmmakers have gotten lazy. “I mean, c’mon!” Have you ever seen a horror film? Or a teen flick? Or Eragon? Abduction? I mean whoever wrote Abduction is either a freaking retard, or seriously seriously was lazy as Josh described. I mean…. really? So just the fact that you believe that there is no such thing as a production getting lazy and not dying an actor’s hair for the hell of it shows that you can’t speak for the Production Industry.

As for the hair thing, I never said that it ‘never’ damages your hair, I said that it takes a while for you to look like Beetlejuice. I am positive that 90% of our actresses hair is VERY damaged, they’re just good at making it look good for the cameras. I am sure Lilly’s hair is fried, it’s just not fried enough to be obvious. It took my hair, which is VERY sensitive, to actually ‘Look’ like it’s damaged. it took a couple of years before my hair started thinning due to breakage, which if you keep doing what you are doing with it while it’s getting that bad then you almost deserve to look bald. lol So I highly doubt Lilly will ever go bald, because each star has a special make up artist that gives them tips. If they start to damage it too much they’r hair and make up advisor tells them to stop and what to do next, in order to keep the image. Just like each actor has an agent, they also have a publicist. A business manager, etc etc etc. I LOVE movies, and LOVE making them. So apparently not everyone understand my love for Spielberg or Lucas or any of the great ones. So don’t judge me for loving the best… There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!!! The man brought me a great childhood full of wonderful memories, sorry you didn’t have the privilege….

          WATCH ENTOURAGE!!!!!!!!!!

“if they do decide to not dye her hair at all, or just not go AS red as we expect them to go, they must have their reasons (which i’m pretty sure they’ll get asked about eventually). they’re not just sitting there, going “hmm, let’s see what OTHER ways we can think of to screw over the fans.” i mean, come on.”

hahahahaha ingenuo. Babe, seriously? The producers of Harry Potter raped us fans up the ass. There are hundreds and hundreds of films out there that were OBVIOUSLY lazily written. Go and watch Flowers In The Attic and read the book. Yeah, looks to me that they thought exactly this with that one: “hmm, let’s see what OTHER ways we can think of to screw over the fans.”

As for Spielberg and Cameron, it’s called: you need the job so deal with it! As for Spielberg being a dick, he is a dick when he needs to be. I would’ve fired people for being insubordinate at work as well. You mean to tell me that just because it’s a hollywood film that no one should be fired? Or do you feel that way about being fired in general? Sorry, but in the real world you get fired by your boss when you suck, or just plain being lazy. And of course in the world of Hollywood you still get fired. So you think Spielberg is a evil tyrant for being a good boss? Somebody still lives with their parents. And remember… without him there would be no Jurrassic Park, ET, Back To The Future, JAWS, The Color Purple, Schindler’s List, Super 8, etc etc etc! Ask ANY of these actors, and they would tell you that you are high off your ass for even making such an awful judgmental statement!!!

        • Scrottie

And actually… yes… she does need to be a ginger. The whole point to Clary’s character is for her to not see her full beauty potential. She doesn’t have low self esteem, she’s just casual. NOT that I am saying all ginger girls are ugly or just slightly cute. But it played a part about how she looked at herself. Kind of like Ellen Page in Juno. Just wore Jeans, band T’s and converses and was fine with that. But girls like US (yes I say this because I am the same exact way) don’t look at ourselves as pretty cheerleaders. We rather hang around the guys, burp, stick our hands in our pants and play video games. Clary is the VERY beginning thinks to herself that she will only be seen as cute, and that she is was just cute, not beautiful. So making her a ginger in the film HELPS the character. They never should have just GIVEN Lilly the role. They should’ve auditioned her like everyone else. It’s my opinion and I stand by it. I’m not saying she is all wrong for Clary, I am saying that I would’ve rather picked a girl that could look very pretty in just a jeans a band t, but also look very casual and plain. She just looks like one of those hot girls in teen movies that wear their boyfriend’s t-shirts the day after the love scene and they all look sexy and crap in their boyfriend’s t’s. I want a girl who looks like she wears them all the time, and she feels the most comfortable in them as well…. It’s the point of Jace and Clary’s relationship. He’s this gorgeous hot guy, that ends up with the quiet sweet little ton-boy girl. And truthfully… that’s rare for girls like us… we end up with a guy who looks just as nerdy as he is. Which is fine. I’m just saying… it rare for girls like us to end up with GQ models. That’s why Clary’s hair has to be red…..

this is also why I am the Production expert…..

          just sayin….

  • Charlie

I’m still pretty sure they are slowly dyeing it. Black to red can be a drastic change,(black to anything can, just be happy she’s not going from black to blonde) they don’t want the color to get messed up.

    • most of the time you actually have to go THROUGH blonde to get to red, particularly if you want it to look natural. and it’s not just getting the right tone, either… it’s also about not completely killing the hair in the process. de-coloration is harsh on hair. so yeah, they’re probably just taking their time to do it right.

  • Scrottie

HEY LOOK!!!! They’re wearing the same pants!!! Her hair still looks brown, and if there are possible tints of red that I have to squint to see… THAT looks fake. Andy is right, they can f***ing make it more red than that! BUT these may be from before hair dye jobs, or maybe they only did one job on her at this point. But still. I think he still looks not even slightly attractive. But like I said, I hope the MAJORITY of the audience wants to hump his bones, I don’t care if I would or not. at least 90% of the majority of chicks who are NON-Readers have to want to basically…. F*** his brains out…

  • GeeGee

I find it odd If that’s the red hair they are going for. Lily has had more of an orange-red hair in Priest and I thought that was the color they were going for in CoB too. It’s been awhile since I red the book but I thought the way Clary’s hair was described was an orange red. Maybe the issue is with Lena. Since Clary is supposed to have the same color of hair as Jocelyn, maybe orange-red doesn’t look good on Lena.

All I know is that so far, I’m skeptical of the entire movie. I hope they make it work but so far, I’m not impressed.

  • joshQ

HE still looks like a fag, and she still looks like a brunette to me. That’s like a “TINT” of red… like seriously? You call that a ginger? BAHAHAHAHAHA if she is, she is a disgrace to gingers everywhere, besides… LOL If they’re trying to make her into a “Daywalker” Ginger they have failed…. MISERABLY! It LOOKS dyed when it’s only a tint of red. But hey, they may not be in full character yet in these pics so… *shrugs* we’ll see. I still have my doubts.

P.S… in order to understand my rant on Gingers and “Daywalkers” you have to watch South Park. just a FYI.

  • Andy

There are ways to make someone look naturally red. If this is the final look than obviously it’s not that they ‘can’t’ do it. It’s that they WONT do it! Sorry but they ain’t trying too hard at all. Look at Kate Winslet in Titanic… Or what about Julia Roberts going blonde for Erin Brockavich. It looked surprisingly natural. Or what about Kate Beckinsale going red for Pear Harbor? Sorry, but they’re not even TRYING… Sooo uh… Peace out!
