The above shots are Aldo Quintino. IMDB which is a totally unreliable source has him as rumored to be playing Raphael.  Now they have been wrong like a gazillion times, but if I recall they have been right on a couple of cast as well. Wasn’t Kevin Zegers on there? Anyway, I decided to look him up and he does have some acting credits and he does look like what I pictured in my head, better actually.

Here are his stats taken directly from his model mayhem page:

Height 5’7

Weight 144 lbs

22 years old

Hispanic with olive colored skin.

Hello I’m Aldo! I was born in Orange County, California. I developed an early interest in the arts and began my acting career onstage, at the age of 6 and started Acting on TV ever since. I’m a hard worker who thrives on new challenges. You will find my easy-going personality and cooperative attitude great to work with. I always love to explore different things. If you ever need a model or interested in using me in some shoots feel free to contact me

He sounds like fun to me. The other parts that made me giggle, but only because I have somewhat of a twisted mind,  next to  experience it says experienced and next to compensation it says …any.

You gotta love the fact that he will take anything. Perhaps this is our guy seeing as they are on a tight budget and all.

So ladies and gents if this did pan out to be true, would you guys say yah or nah to this choice?

His look makes me think a bit of Shannon Kook… 0_o Lol

    Only the top picture, with his arm around the girl, and the first picture(on the left) of the bottom-three look even close to how I pictured Raphael in my mind. But, really, I would have to see him act in something before I could really judge. :}
((I will probably always see book!Raphael like Diego Luna[from 'Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights'] in my head ~ no matter who they cast or not.^^))

  • TeamEdwardJace

he could be good fit for the role.

Yeah, with Andy on this one. Don’t care. It’s just Raphael, and I personally am pissed he isn’t dead in the series yet. Oh and I saw Hunger Games with some family tonight. Was pretty damn good. Inspired me to read the books. The only thing I disproved of, production wise: Josh’s blonde hair, it looked fake. He looked obviously unnaturally blonde. But it was a small mistake, no big deal. And the filming style was giving me a bit of a headache. Thank God it wasn’t like that throughout the film, or else I would’ve had a freaking seizure or something. lol. And I could slightly tell the plot was rushed, but NOT too much. So I think what made it a good film was the plot/storyline which of course makes me want to read the books now. And the other thing that made it good was pretty good acting.

I thought it was pretty good too. And the filming style bothered me too. It’s called Shaky-Cam. I HATE it. Unless you are doing a movie like Chronicle, I it bothers me A LOT and gives me a headache. Again, I think it’s cause I am ADD, too much stimulation is like a seizer for me, and immediately I get extremely agitated. I agree, they over did the Shaky-Cam. The acting was pretty good, and they did have some awesome veterans in there as well. But this is why I hate fads…. let me tell you why. Because all people can do with something like that is talk about it, and it gets to the point that you hear about it SO much that the whole story is ruined for me, I basically knew what was going to happen even though, I NEVER read the books or even see the movie. That’s partly what happened to me with Twilight, and ALMOST happened to me with Harry Potter.

I totally agree about the overexposure thing, it happens now with almost every huge movie (or artist or even TV show). I try to just block it all out so that I don’t find myself hating something before it even comes out. That’s why I have such particular tastes in everything, because while I like the stuff I love to be popular (so it gets the attention it deserves and does not die an early death) I also don’t want it to be push on me 24-7. I know that is what the entertainment industry/advertising industry love to do, whether they think we are stupid or gullible that is the default nowadays. If that makes any sense. I love the Hunger Games books and then they blew up before the movie came out and I almost didn’t want to go because the would not stop with the commercials and ads. And Josh you are so right about the awful hir color, it was beyond distracting at times

Except Twilight really is terrible. lol. MY ex made me watch the first one, that was enough for me. I was giving her all kinds of hell afterwards about how the vampires were pussies, and that the writer of the series turned them into more like fairies rather than vamps. I saw Blade when I was about 11 or 12, Weslty Snipes, would kick ALL the vamps of Twlight asses… actually… every vampire in that movie could probably destroy Edward. The sequels were pretty much crappy, but the first one was one of the best vampire movies I ever saw. Raw, bloody, nasty, sexy. lol. And yeah, there’s a difference between a fad, and something that is just so great that people fall in love with it forever. Harry potter, Star Wars, ET. but then there’s Sh*t like Twilight, when really the only reason it’s popular is because a a guy is shirtless through most of it, and there’s a romance between an unattractive girl and another attractive guy to fourteen year olds. I think I just hate it because they turned the subgenre into a class of pussies. And just for the record, about Josh’s fake blonde hair, that’s why I wasn’t sure about Ryes Meyers dying his hair white, it might look obvious. Blonde is one thing, but white? It’ll look like a preschool play.

I just bought the Hunger Games book, gonna start reading while driving back to Colorado from New Mexico. But I just had to write about the fact that you said the movie’s plot seemed slightly rushed, I felt the same way, but it wasn’t rushed to the point to where it felt like nothing was being explained, or the characters/actors weren’t getting the chance to grow throughout the story. Where I felt it was rushed was near the end after Peeta was injured, and they hid in the cave. Now like I said I have not read the book, so for all I know those scenes could’ve been right on the money. But from what I saw I am pretty sure (although unsure) that I am right, that most readers felt the ending was rushed. And I think the reason it felt rushed was because the acting suddenly jumped. I hope I am making sense. That circles back to the Director. NOT saying the director was bad in any way, the movie was pretty much awesome, I am just saying that I could tell that they either ran out of money or they ran out of time, so they rushed editing, and acting, and cut a lot of stuff out. I guess what I am saying is that only a small part of the plot seemed rushed which is GREAT. Whereas Eragon was REALLY rushed. I have still yet to read those books and I could tell that they left out WAY too much stuff without even reading the books. He was going to battle without any training? He suddenly was an expert rider after only riding Saphira twice? His magic was spot on even though he learned NOTHING of who and what he was? I mean, I could tell 100% that the movie was rushed, fans hated it, therefore no sequel. My mother read those books and she said that half the stuff that happened in the movie didn’t even happen in the books. So you NEVER want you your film to be THAT obviously rushed. NEVER…. but Hunger Games was not at all that rushed, just near the end. And that’s okay, they were able to cover it up, so that’s all that matters :D

        • joshQ

Oh I agree. I think it’s the acting that makes it seem rushed, because the characters went from being one way to another. And that doesn’t make them bad actors, it just proves the director might have panicked a bit near the end there. Eragon was bad, terribly bad. I agree it was obviously rushed. To the point where it might as well be a montage or something lol Hungar Games wasn’t badly rushed, just in the end, it wasn’t enough to ruin the whole thing

  • Princess5:)

This guy is actually what I picture Raphael! Exept that Raphael in the book is supposed to look really young. But anyway, as @andy said, the characters in the movie won’t be the exact replica of what’s in the book.

  • Andy

Like Josh said. As long as he’s not Mexican or at least looks more puerto rican than mexican I don’t care. Cause it would make more sense in NY. Don’t care. He looks ok. Raphael is kind of a douche. So don’t really give a shite about him. Lol

  • Ashley D

I must suck at picturing these characters because NONE of them are syncing up with what’s in my mind lol I think I’ll be rereading the first book cause I totally missed Magnus being Asian.

    • Andy

Thats because none of them look like the way the characters are supposed to look, except maybe Magnus. I remember from the beginning in CoB the description that stated Magnus was Asian so that I always knew. But don’t assume that just because it’s a movie that it will look exactly like you pictured. It’s not going to. We all pictured them at least a little different. I think the majority of us got the main idea, sure. But we all pictured them a little different. So the actors are only going to look as close as they can possibly get. They do that by making sure Clary’s a wavy, redheaded, short girl. That Jace is blonde and highly attractive. That Alec is tall, dark and quiet. That Magnus is Asian and homosexual. Etc etc etc. lol. I mean unless you want to picture the actors instead of using your imagination lol. But if not, don’t use the actors as an idea of what they look like. They’re not always going to. Lol

      • Krissy

exactllly ….. i agree with Andy… you dont necessarily have to ” use the actors as an idea of what they look like” but just rely on them to bring the book to life and on the big screen…

      • Ashley D

I read all 5 books in about 4 days so all the descriptions kind of ran together as far as like Magnus being Asian. I’m not even sure HOW I missed that until I read where he was written out of the first draft for the movie and then Cassandra said something along the lines of he had better be Asian. I can picture what it says about their features..just not able to put a face to it. I love when my favorite books turn into movies cause when I go back to reread them afterwards, I can see more clearly cause I have a face now to go with it. I’m odd that way I guess.

        • Jersey

Ashley you are not alone on totally missing the Magnus Asian thing. I totally missed it too! I read all through the first four books pictuiring Adam Lambert in my head as Magnus. Then Cassie made a comment about how she was dead against him because Magnus had to be Asian and I was like, what?? So I’m right there with you. :)

        • Scrottie

See my images in my head are so perfect it’s like they’re real. Especially Jace, I don’t just have a tall guy with blonde hair and a face. I have an shape to his eyes in my head, the shape of his mouth, his cheek bones, body type etc etc. have is SO clear in my head it’s like he was born there. Lol and the same goes for all the other characters. I don’t like when books are made to film cause they usually don’t do it any justice. But I also have absolutely NO issues sticking to my own imagination on what the characters look like. Even if the movie’s good, I still have my own image. Not everyone is good at that. I think there are two reasons why I am good at that. One, I’m an artist so I can picture so many kinds of different beautiful images in my head to draw and paint. Also… I am ADD. My brain is like ten times more active than most. Like… When I’m thinking really hard, sometimes what I am thinking shows up before my eyes as if I actually see it in reality. it’s a cool a ability whenever I want to watch a movie with a TV or a DvD player of some kind. Lol. But it’s bad like for when I drive and stuff. So when I read it plays out like a movie inside my head. I read Flowers In The Attic AFTER I saw the movie. That movie was HORRIBLE. But I still pictured my own Chris and Cathy and I even saw the movie first. Like Andy said the actors are only “made” to look like them.

          • Andy

I TOTALLY get what you are saying when it comes to being ADD and having such an active mind it’s like Japanese traffic jam in there. LOL. And yeah, I’m not particularly fond of Book-to-film adaptions either. And flowers in the attic was such a crappy movie. Almost every movie I’ve seen that’s a book-to-film adaptation sucked. I thought all the HP movies were crap too. The last 2 movies were ok but for the most part… Hated them. And I was a HUGE HP fan growing up! Not a fan of the movies :(

          • Jersey

okay wait wait hold the phone. Andy did you read Flowers in the Attic???

          • Andy

Yeah, a long time ago. That book is f***ed up!!! People talk shite about the brother sister thing but that book takes the cake. I never read any of the other books though. I couldn’t quite handle it after the first one.

  • imdb is basically wikipedia for movies, and i don’t trust it as far as i can throw it– not until the movie hits production stage and the page can no longer be updated by just anyone, at least. yes, they had kevin zegers there, but there had been rumors about him flying around before he was confirmed to be alec, so it’s likely someone just went and edited the page based on rumors. it wouldn’t be the first time that happened.

about this guy, well… i guess he could fit raphael’s description, but he looks very much his age if you ask me, if not older. not to mention he doesn’t seem to have many credits to his name, so i can’t really judge him on his acting. unless they’re actually intending raphael to look like he’s in his 20′s, i’d rather they not go with him. but i guess if they do choose him, it’ll be for a reason. eh, i’m not that attached to raphael anyway…

    • Jersey

Oh yeah I know IMDB could totally be wrong, but I figured I’d throw it up as a choice anyway and give us something to talk about as we head into next week. The book descripton said he looked about Jace’s age so I wouldn’t be anymore bothered by this choice than I have been with any of the other ones.
