Scrottie, Andy and Jen: You Negative Nancy’s need to stop drinking the Krazy Kool-Aid. The director, producers and casting director are in charge of casting and the ultimate decision. Lily is not in charge of casting. Obviously they will take her opinion into consideration considering she’s the protagonist but the ultimate decision does not lie with her. Lily didn’t try to push Logan Lerman on anybody. Lily’s never even mentioned him and, frankly, I doubt he was ever in the running despite what Cassandra Clare who has absolutely zero to do with casting was hinting. I’m sure he was just on a hopeful casting list like so many others.
Scrottie: You need to get over your issues regarding Lily’s parentage. Being celebrity offspring is no guarantee of anything in the business. How successful are Zelda Williams (Robin Willaims’ daughter) Rumer Willis, Emma Roberts, Mamie and Grace Gummer (freaking Meryl Streep’s daughters) and so many others? She got the part because they like her and think she’s right for it.
They were have both been publiclt dating other people for the last year on seperate continents. How on earth are they going to carry on a cross-continental love affair with nobody noticing? Jamie broke up with his fiancee about May time and has moved on. He obviously moves on quickly as he got engaged to Bonnie only a few months after breaking up with his long-term girlfriend. There is no confirmation that Jamie and Lily are dating but if they are they are both single adults so it is their own business.
Whatever your objections are to Jamie’s casting the things you are saying about them personally when you know nothing about their circumstances or the casting process are pretty disgusting and you should be ashamed!
Thank You!!!I’m really excited for this movie and even though I wasn’t that sure about Jamie at first he’s grown on me.I can’t imagine anyone else as Jace and if you look at videos and interviews with Jamie you’ll see that he’ll make a pretty good Jace as well as Lily will make a god Clary so please stop complaining and just be happy, I trust Cassandra’s judgement on both Jamie and Lily and that they will make this movie an instant hit.
And Jasmin, just because YOU ONLY see Jamie as Jace doesn’t mean anyone else does, If we all thought the same, and had the same opinion the world would be pretty f*ckin boring. I support the kid, I think he looks better than before, and I think he is an okay actor. But that doesnt mean that I should change by entire view of Jace just because you all do. Ah there they are..I was wondering where the negative nellie’s were…glad to see they are sticking it out. Well like it or not peeps our cast is our cast and continuing to cry and moan about it won’t change a thing. But go ahead because it gives us something to do. Let me tell you I love the cover of city of bones as much as everyone else but the Jace in my mind for some reason didn’t have that big a build and when it comes to film they needed to find actors who could become the characters not just look like them. If these were silent films than looks would have been all they needed to consider but we have “talkies” now and we have to trust that the casting directors know what they are doing.
If his performance as King Arthur had impressed me I would say give him a chance. But all the sexy scenes i have seen him in just are not cutting it. I have seen much better young and more attractive actors as of late. I see no real changes in his appearance in the above pictures and I’ve seen his acting, He is not that great.
well in this instance and for the sake of the series..let’s hope in the end..your wrong. But only time will tell..now someone needs to find some cheeseburgers and make Jamie eat some of them

I didn’t picture him with a big build either. But i did picture him very good looking and lean and sculpted with broader shoulders not so scrawny, a little bad ass and rough and tough. not saying i would like Alex for the part but someone who carries themselves the way his does. But Alex in my mind just isn’t pretty enough, he has the body but not the face.
I agree with Jen. I didn’t picture Jace all huge or anything, but I pictured him to be good looking. And I do agree with her that there are plenty of “good” actors who are also “good” looking. Actually if they’re dating, it’s almost like they’ve been seeing each other secretly ever since and that’s why he got the part. As much as her daddy is Phill Collins, it doesn’t mean that he is experienced enough to be telling the casting directors who to pick for what roles. Not to mention daddy is a musician… Not an actor. I am still positive about the outcome. Because the truth is that if it sucks. I say @&$*# it… It’s not worth the agony and bull.

Yeah. I truly hate to be a negative nancy. It one of those people who have to gossip and think the worst about others, but I don’t see how anyone does not find this whole thing odd. Lilly was so enforceful about him when he auditioned. She also tried to push Lerman on them too. Lerman and her also happened to be buddies outside of work. And now Jamie and Bonnie are splits and the movie hasn’t even started filming yet and we see these two walkin around holding hands???? Sorry, but I find it suspicious. I wasn’t going to say anything at first, but this is all way too weird. Didn’t take him long to move on from Bonnie. That’s all I’m saying. It’s just quite obvious that there has been an affair going on. All evidence points to it…. It’s all off to me. But like I said. I will still get excited and see this movie when it comes out, I may even wait to see City Of Ashes before I make full judgement. Depends. But in the end if it sucks… It sucks. No excuse, no sugar coating it, in the end if I don’t like the film. I don’t like it. And I will be sure to tell all who have not read the books to read them and not bother with the movie. Because it sucks. I hope it won’t though…

And I must say that I am glad to see that I am not the only one whose first thought was this! I mean… the pics…. MAY… be misleading, but after looking at ALL of them, I highly F&*%ing doubt it!!! If these are current pictures he is no!!! where near ready for this part. Why oh why could they not have picked someone more suited to this part. Just got finished reading city of lost souls. Which is why i’m all fired up again about the pour choices made already. The girl playing izzy doesn’t even fit in my book. the girl from secret circle would have been a much better fit. clary’s all wrong, Jace is all wrong. No way these people read these books before they started casting. P.S. There is NO WAY Jace would sit with his legs crossed like that. eeewwwwwwwwww
i agree that jace wouldn’t sit like that. but atm jamie is still jamie this is not the movie yet. i really doubt he is going be anything like himself in the movie. if that makes any sense. and also i think the person cast as izzy looks perfect. once they all get into character im sure they will all look better.

love Lily shoe’s and i am freaking out with happiness right now with the tmiand id news and i live near toronto! and jamie has been working out and we can see( in some pics, you can even some chest muscle). i think we’ll seen even more so in a month and i jame will pull the lean and muscled look. also,people, you expect him to work out all the time. he has other responsible as an actor and he has a life!
It is terrible that I was squealing like a mouse seeing these pics. It just that we have been waiting for years for this movie and the peices are actually starting to come together I love it. Oh how I wish I could go to Toronto right now!

if city of bones does well then they will of course make city of ashes and they will at least do city of glass to complete the original trilogy…
(because wasnt the mortal instruments originally supposed to be a trilogy)… if it was then im so glad that cc kept writting.

Agreed! He needs to bulk up a little more. He has definitely gained some muscle but not enough in my opinion. Like you, I have been spoiled by the book covers LOL.

No I believe this movie is going to be epic because for one thing this is the type of story even guys like, look at the Hunger Games, these books appeal to EVERYONE. It has got comedy, romance, horror and action. It’s got equal hot guys and hot girls the lanquage is a bit more adult than lets say Harry Potter or Twilight heck if they continue making the rest of the series I won’t be suprise to see an R rating later on.

From looking at some of those pics at newscom I’m now half-convinced they are trolling the paparazzi by acting affectionately in some these pics as they look like they are legit messing about especially Jamie. In the other pics they just look like friendly and like they hare having fun together.
I for one can’t wait to see Jamie dressed differently, more specifically like Jace. Also, I want his hair to be cut or at the very least styled differently. I’m not too fond of the shaggy look.

I wouldn’t be suprised if these hooked up for real it happened with Twilight it did not happen with The Hunger Games than again Peeta and Katniss did not have the intense relationship that Jace and Clary have so It won’t suprise if Lily and Jamie fall for each other in real life.
When I saw these pictures, I made a noise somewhere between a squeal and an ‘awww’. They look adorable together (just together on screen, not specifically ‘together’, though that’d be good, too) and Jamie looks GREAT! I’m so excited!!

yeah but that’s what the photographer labeled the picss that doesn’t mean that it’s offically what they are. alls I know is they have to make chemistry between the two of them quickly if it’s going to work on screen. plus don’t you remember way back when Lily was all ga ga descibing Jamie’s audition and she was like , “it’s got to be Jamie…” maybe she’s had a crush on him all along but he was very taken for the last year!!
