Idk I guess I just don’t get a Jewish vibe from Robert, but I can see where people are coming from. We all have our different opinions. My Jewish friend thinks Robert looks more North African/Middle Eastern.I can see that. I have seen a lot of North Africans or Middle Easterners look like Robert.
When he was announced as Simon I didn’t know who he was, but after watching the first two seasons of Misfits I’ve realized he’s just perfect for Simon. I couldn’t be happier! He’s really funny! I can’t picture anyone else as Simon anymore. And he does look Jewish…

Robert looks Lousiana Creole! If I didn’t know he was Irish and thought he was American I would probably think he was that. He does look to have some African ancestry so I will have to agree with my sister. I think he can play the nerdy geek role. On Foreign Exchange he did.
I agree. Logan Lerman looks more Jewish than Robert to me. Also Lerman is 100 percent Jewish. Robert looks like an octoroon or quadroon(someone who is predominantly Caucasian with Sub Saharan African ancestry). His features are off.
lol well I think Robert Sheehan is just an Irish man. Not a lot of Irish people with Sub-Saharan African ancestry (Samantha Mumba excluded!).
Looks like the stereotype Jew to me. Thick dark curly hair, bushy eyebrows, and a skinny small posture. Soon the glasses… I am just waiting for him to have a nazally Jewish New York accent and the stereotype will be complete.

I agree with you Krissy, he has the perfect… everything. I didn’t picture Logan Lerman because he is a thick build kind of guy. I pictured simon really lanky, thin, and tall. Well… in between Jace and Isabelle. Although if Logan got the part I still would’ve been really happy because I think he is a really good actor and would do a great job, but I am also glad he didn’t get it because he is not at all what I pictured Simon to look like.

I never said Logan Lerman was masculine, I said he was thicker built. Another words, he doesn’t have the same body type as Jamie. If Logan decided to go to boot camp to buff out he would look a little more like the buff we all wanted for Jamie faster than Jamie would, because Logan doesn’t have smaller bone structure. That DOES NOT mean masculine. How much you wanna bet that Logan and Jamie weigh about the same (before Jamie’s workout regimen) despite the fact that Jamie is 5’11″ and Logan is 5’8″? I know guys who are 6’3″ who only way 145lbs which is probably about what Logan SHOULD weigh, if not just a little less. You know why they only way 145? because they’re built like Jamie. Thin thin thin bone structor, thin thin thin lengths, making them look lanky, and are very very very skinny. Logan does NOT have thin bone structure! And I really don’t see any masculinity with Sheehan! When I said “Thicker”, it DOES NOT mean muscles. I don’t see how anyone could mix up the definitions of the two words. Thick, and masculinity? Like I said, I think Logan would have been a great Simon too, but as far as my imagination goes, he’s the furthest from Simon. I like this kid better, he’s dorky, and cute, AND he doesn’t outshine Jamie, which was something I was honestly worried about….

I know what Scrotte said, however, I thought Simon was supposed to be short, or medium height, so five foot eight fits better than five foot eleven (or six foot if the IMDB is right about Sheehan’s height).
As for Logan’s build, I don’t know if you saw him at the MTV Movie Awards very recently, but he was shaped like a leaf. That’s what he usually looks like, he has a small/scrawny body type, Sheehan has a medium one. Jamie CB has a medium one too. That’s my sense from having watched them in movies/pictures (with Logan it’s apparent anywhere from Hoot to The Three Musketeers that he’s noticeably scrawny… again, not a critcism).
I’m not saying Sheehan is like a Hemsworth brother in comparison, but he seems average build.
P.S., I think both of these actors would / will outshine Campbell Bower.

I’m sorry honey, but I think you are either blind, or on drugs. Jamie may be a medium build now, but from EVERYTHING else he has been in, he has a scrawney bod, and a girl shape to him. That’s NOT medium….
P.S. and I DO NOT see a resemblence between that picture of Simon and Logan! Again, I think you are completely off your knockers. I mean to each is own. You have your image and we all have ours, but you need to stop arguing with people just because they have a different image, it’s like you are flat out telling them their image is wrong. Everyone is different we all pictured the characters differently. I do however think you are crazy to think Logan looks EXACTLY like that image, Robert is the one who look EXACTLY like that image.
I gave up arguing with her, Lisa. It’s pointless. Just the fact that she posted those pics proved that she was only going to see what she wanted to see, and enforced that on me for saying Robert looks like Simon, and looks Jewish. She didn’t need to post the pics. it was her way of trying to tell me “How can you NOT think Logan looks like Simon” Even though I agree I see no resemblance between Logan and Simon in the pic she posted whatsoever. Although, saying Jamie is medium build made me be like “WHAT” and laugh my ass off lol. XP based of the the films I”VE seen, he looks like maybe if he turned sideways and stuck out his tongue he’d look like a zipper! ESPECIALLY in Sweeney Todd, he looked freaking disgusting in that movie. I am sorry, I don’t care what anyone says, but Jamie did NOT look his best in that film. There’s skinny like Logan, and still be extremely attractive, then there’s skinny like Jamie, that makes you want to puke. lol I don’t care what she says there is a HUGE difference in bone structure between the two boys. Logan is skinny, yes, but not gross anorexic skinny like Jamie used to look like. And Yes robert will outshine Jamie… in ACTING, but Robert isn’t the best looking kid I have seen at all!!! hahaha Logan would’ve been a better actor AND better looking. Like I said, Jace is supposed to be really good looking…. but we all know this…
Just watched almost all three seasons of Misfits and Robert Sheehan is hysterical in it! Absolutely brilliant! He will make a great Simon. He looks the part; skinny, dark, good-looking but not pretty. More importantly I think he will be able to portray the wit and humour that is Simon.
I need to watch that. we can watch it on Hulu, right?
I kinda always pictured the guy from Percy Jackson… er, Logan Lerman (yeah, that’s it!) to play Simon, because he could probably pull off dorky and cute at the same time, and he would also transform into a vampire quite beautifully. However, he’s white as snow and doesn’t look a lick like a Jewish person, so I suppose that this fellow, Robert Sheehan, makes a far more logical choice for Simon, as far as appearance is concerned.
Also, about the whole every-single-cast-member-to-date-is-english-kill-me-now thing, I don’t really mind. I just hope that the producers remember that this story is set in New York with, for all intents and purposes, “native” New Yorkers as characters. Hopefully they’re able to pull a Hugh Laurie (or, you know, at LEAST a Rob Pattinson) and mask their accents to sound American. But they probably will. I’m trusting these guys~

There are many kinds of Jewish people. Even Irish Jews… Not as many, no. Lol. But there are many. Being Jewish does not mean you are ONLY from Jeruselam. But from all over.
I know there are all kinds of Jewish people… and Logan Lerman is even an interesting example of this, as one of his grandparents grew up in China (his grandfather is a European-born Jew whose family left Europe because of the Nazis, and only China would agree to take them in).
However, Robert Sheehan is Catholic like most Irish people.
I think he will be the biggest breakout star of these three lead actors.
well if we are looking at all the actors cast, he probably has the largest fan base so far. Not only is he very well known in the UK, but Misfits has had so much buzz around it that most people in North America have at least heard about it or have even watched some episodes. He is by far the most charismatic character of that show, and I’m pretty sure it will transfer over to City of Bones.
I must agree, I feel he might be the best of them all, not just by the vib he gives off, but he just seems to give the best performance I have seen from all the actors I have watched so far.
i don’t know much about robert sheehan (i should watch misfits… the gifs on tumblr are always hilarious…) but since the casting announcement i’ve been looking up interviews with him on youtube and with each one i’m more and more convinced he’s going to do a great job.
i never really imagined simon with curly hair, but i googled some pictures of him with his hair straightened and hoooo boy, the guy looks GOOD.
whichever hairstyle they go with in the movie, though, i’m satisfied with this. i’m sure he’s going to be GREAT in the role. and he and jemima are going to look so pretty on screen together. :3 (getting ahead of myself with that last comment, but simon and izzy are so OTP, i can’t help but picture it already. LOL).

So for all the people that are attacking the Jamie and Lily pictures, did any of you guys think that this might be homework. Do some research. When Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams were filming Blue Valentine, they were assigned to live together for a couple months before production even started so they could feel what it was like to fall in love and live in such close proximity with one another. Jamie and Lily are in Toronto before this movie has been cast, meaning they are currently getting into character and this includes building up chemistry so it looks right on camera. I’m not saying they aren’t together or won’t get together but actors get homework assignments like these all the time and that is when the outside world starts to speculate.

apparently you have to be british and have huge eyebrows to be in this film. This cast is reminding me of one of those weird british films.
first off he’s Irish, second the only other eyebrow person is Lily and third off these are not good pictures of him, I agree. But you do like him for Simon right? I mean you watched the video of him on the post that announced he was cast so you see he looks way better in real life.
yes once i saw the video i liked him and thought he can pull it off. if the calm down the brows and straighten his hair. I picture simon with straight hair. But he is very funny and can pull of the smart come backs simon sometimes says. He is much cuter in person.
I have a question for ya. And I seriously seriously seriously seriously don’t mean this to start a fight or anything, dude, I am seriously just asking. Does anything they do make you happy? I understand you don’t like the guy playing Jace, I for one think he looks like a blonde Michael Jackson, but I think this simon dude is pretty legit. I just feel like at this point you are so disappointed about the casting of Jace that nothing is going to satisfy you. Which I get, Jace is a pretty intense character. Every chick I know who’ve read these books are like uber in love with this guy. lol. So I get it, I do.
Andy I agree with you 100%!! I have no idea why in the past few weeks when we are finally getting casting news after over a year of nothing and we finally have Simon for God’s sake and all some people can do is cry and complain. Forget the fact that we came very close to almost not having a movie at all!! I posted the pictures of Jamie & Lily so people could see how they look next to eachother so we could see if there were any changes in Jamie’s appearance. I never imagined they were going to burn him on a stake for not being with Bonnie and getting chummy with Lily. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if as members join the cast and get settled in Toronto we will see pictures of them all hanging together, what will they say then that it’s an orgy?? JK but man what a mess can’t we just all get along?? And I am having all sorts of fun cleaning up the profanity in everyones comments so that Admin doesn’t have a heart attack and shut down the site once and for all

People are stupid. It’s like what you’ve been saying Scrottie, and you might as well stop trying to explain it, because people will believe what they want to believe. But just like you said, publicity exists through us. We’re the ones who start the hype, the rumors, the inuendos etc etc. All they do is take the pictures and we do the rest. It’s simple press logic. It’s so funny how the people are so quick to assume the worst, and the reason why the worst happens is because people assume in the first place. If more people would pay attention more to their own damn lives instead of butting their noses in people’s they don’t even know, the world would be a much better place. I like the books, I admit, there are things they are doing with this film that just don’t make sense. Not even the Jamie crap, just the british accents and stuff like that. We all know that we didn’t picture their voices like that, BUT damn. What’s with all the negativity. I applaud freedom of speech, but Jesus Christ this is getting out of hand. It’s one thing to be like “Still don’t like Jace, but hey whatever.” and another to diss every little thing the production does. It’s like that annoying brides maid at a wedding constantly complaining about her boyfriend cheating on her. That’s what these people sound like. Who cares if it’s a publicity stunt? How about it’ll be proof once the franchise is over and they break up. Some people keep saying “Oh I thought that about Rob and Kristen, but they’re still together….” Yeah…. so are the movies. They’re not over yet…. so therefore neither is their relationship. Just like how some people keep saying don’t assume Jamie will suck until the movie comes out, well… don’t assume they’re posing for press until the movie is over??? But it’s okay for people to not like Pettyfer just because he’s a cocky ass??? Last I remember… so is Jace? There are people who are fantabulous workers despite their bad attitude. I know a chick at my job who I can’t stand for the life of me, but do I ever want my boss to fire her? No, because she is an excellent worker, and when she’s around, I feel less stressed because I am not doing all of the load by myself.
