Apparently not only is Jamie hitting the gym and drinking protein shakes he is learning Krav Maga!! For those of you who don’t know what that is and believe me I had to look it up it is a form of Martial Arts that trains you to do as much damage to your oppoent as quickly as possible.
Seeing as Jace is supposed to be an incredible shadowhunter who has been trained to fight since birth. Jamie is being required to learn this and he is doing it. In my opinion this puts him at a whole new level when it comes to the desire he has to portray Jace and do it well. There are plenty of actors who would have been like, “what?” and not done it.
So what do you all think of Jamie learning some crazy mad fighting skills? Paparazzi better watch out if he’s in a bad mood

i agree with the nerves, i’m sure there are plenty of young actors ( taylor lautner) who has already had some kind of training in this field. Hopefully they have picked some of them for actors. I really hope the casters have read the books to get a good understanding of the characters and not just the script for the movie. That being said I’m warming up to Jamie and he is putting forth a lot of effort for the part.
Let’s not use Taylor Lautner as an example. I am not 100% on this Jamie dude, but acting wise, Jamie has Lautner beat by a million years. I’m sorry, I just think that Lautner can’t act to save his life. Getting physical training in martial arts doesn’t necessarily make someone a great actor. It could add to it, but it doesn’t officially make them great. A great actor puts out every single thing he has to make his character as convincing as possible. So Lautner doesn’t count as someone who necessarily is a great actor, I personally think he just likes being a pretty boy and does that kind of training to look good. Whereas Jamie intentions are more convincing because he is this scrawney kid going for a pretty difficult role to portray for the kind of guy he is. So in Jamie’s case it DOES define his acting, because he’s proving that he can change into someone else completely in order to make a role convincing, for Lautner it’s just…. there….
Wow Andy you sounded just like Scrotty on that one and I mean that as a compliment. I agree Lautner is not the best actor but what do you expect from Sharkboy?? Even though I thoroughly enjoyed him as Jacob I know I am a cheeseball!! I just wish we could get some pics of Jamie I mean he must at least be in Toronto by now, right? Where are the people with the camera when he is getting his butt thrown around learning to fight??

I love the detective work, I can’t wait for more pics of them together. I totally agree with Taylor being a pretty face rather than a serious actor, I am thinking he is a lot like The Rock or something no so much with the serious roles but big budget action flicks with less emphasis on acting.

Thank you Jersey! I feel so special! LOL. Yeah I have to agree with Andy, Lautner is not the best actor. But I also don’t find him all that attractive either. I think he literally looks like someone smacked him flat in the face with a frying pan. LOL. But it could also be because I seem to only like white boys. Taylor isn’t white, so I guess that’s why he doesn’t do anything for me. Since I was little, I have always been into white guys. When I was about 4 I saw Back To The Future and forever had a crush on Michael J Fox, then when I was about five I went and saw Star Wars when it was re-released in theaters. I have a crush on Luke Skywalker for a little while…. I don’t know why… He isn’t the cutest. His daddy, Anikan Skywalker is waaayyy hotter, but okay. lol. Then when I was 9 I was forever in love with Leonardo DiCaprio. Then when I was about 13, I became overly obsessed with Josh Hartnett for a long time. Then when I was 15, I had a huge crush on Daniel Radcliffe, then after that Hayden Christensen. Now I don’t have a single favorite, now I bounce around between Alex Pettyfer, Zac Efron, and that new boy… oooohhhh…. Brenton Thwaites. Sorry, but I am officially in love with him! LOL XP Okay, enough talk about boys. EL are you AMAZING I was so glad to read that, and I saw on my Facebook feed just now the new official teaser poster for the movie!!! It makes me feel so good to know that this movie is starting to move along. Excitement level just went up BIG time!!!
Relieved frankly. I was wondering why they werent being trained in some form of martial arts. Its so close to production and it seemed like all Jamie was doing is endurance training. Fitness is good, but hes the BEST Shadowhunter in generations. It honestly makes me nervous for the rest of the cast.
