He looks good but i still say Alex pettyfer would make a much better jace. Alex doesnt even have to do anything to look the part, sexy hot and hard as a rock abs. Jamie’s had how long and he is still too skinny and too girl pretty. Filming starts in august. I dont think hes ready but he has improved from his camelot days I must say.
Sighs… Yeah, Alex would. But he seems like an arrogant ass. I cant stand that. Its such a turn off, and Jace is so much more than a pretty, arrogant, jerk. Im excited to see Jamie bring Jace and all his complexities to life. If anyone can do it Jamie can.

If it took that kid ONE year to look that good, then how well do you think a kid could look starting at age twelve through to age seventeen/eighteen? I’m skinny, but my little cousin is in wrestling right now, he’s only 13, if he keeps it up with sports for the rest of his life, he’ll be looking like a boxer by the time he’s 18 to 20 years old. I’ll be jealous, cause I aint got that kind of patience. I like my scrawney self lol
Jamie probably wont look like that though. Or he might, because they’re making him do unusual training. Usually people start with 3 days a week with work outs. When men want to bulk up, in stead of eating more salads, and things with no bread, or sugar like most us girls do to remain thin, they will eat A LOT of meat. I don’t know why I am telling you this, You probably already know. lol. BUt anyways, they immediately made him do 6 days a week, and a lot of protein shakes. And I am sure he is not trying to eat healthy outside of the gym neither. lol. Lots of fats. but by the time the second film is released he might look more like the guys in the video. They didn’t take 4 months to get to that size they took just 1. So Jamie might not be as big as that in the beginning, but later he might, because they will continue the training if the film is successful. Hayden Christensen still looked pretty thin for Attack Of The Clones, but by Reveng Of The Sith he was smoking! lol So that’s probably what we’ll see here. I still find the whole production to be odd. They NEVER film before a film is Greenlit. it is so rare. I keep forgetting to ask my acting teacher, and now there’s no school so I can’t lol. I’ll have to though.

lol I knew what you meant. No I know he either wont be that big, or he will, depends on the situation. I just thought I’d give peeps the idea of how long it really takes to bulk up like that with the PROPER training. Like you said, his is in unusual trianing. They usually START at three days a week, then they slowly move up. Not a a lot of cardio unless they want to lose fat first. And since Jamie has a smaller build, it will take him longer compared to Efron who was already a wider built kind of guy. But yeah, it’s actually not realistic for Jace to look like he did on the cover, because they train around age 12, right? Then they go out in the field around 14… isn’t it? And they continue sparing even after they complete their early training. I am just going by what I can remember. So I was just giving everyone an idea of what a year of pumping some iron does. If it only took that scrawney dude in the vid i posted a year to look that good, than shadowhunters who train from age 12 and up will look even better than that. But Jamie probably wont look like that, or he will, we never know. The dude’s got potential, I agree with everyone, but he is not quite that alpha male “Cause all the b#%es love me” kind of guy LOL. It’s just hard to take a dude serious when he looks like that and brags about his experience like Jace. It’s like…rrrriiiiiiiigggghhhhtt. hahahahahahhaha
Oh and P.S. a chick who is a star wars fan is the sh-! I just had to say! I wasn’t into AOTC. Christensen pissed me off. Actually, so did McGregor. I just thought the whole thing was stale. And I KNOW it’s star wars. It’s Lucas’ thing not to be all like… “Hey guys let’s win an Oscar for this!” lol But AOTC was just really stale. Then ROTS was released and my whole attitude changed. It was clearly outrageous to watch Anikan turn Vader. Christensen was better on many levels in the third film. At least in my opinion. What’s unrealistic is having a dude that looks like he belongs on Rocky Horror Show brag about his good looks, and luck with the ladys. Or maybe that is realistic, and really it’s delusional. Haha. No I don’t want to be a downer. I’ve noticed everyone getting annoyed at that. I actually think any guy could look good with the effort. Same with chicks. So I think we can sit and wait and see what the kid can do. If not well… I guess it sucks for him then, huh? lol
It’s Rocky Horror PICTURE Show. But yeah I know what you meant Ha ha. I love that movie. I was okay with AOTC, like you said, it was… ehh. Bit I did love ROTS and Lucas doesn’t really care too much for acting ability. I mean it’s star wars. Who goes to see Star Wars, or Star Trek for oscar winning performances? lol no offense. I wasn’t into Episode II because I didn’t like the way it played out for some reason. I don’t know what exactly but it wasn’t my favorite. My favorite Episodes are III, V, and IV. Everyone’s fave is V though. lol. It’s because we’re introduced to Yoda, well.. I mean when the first trilogy was released…. and re-released when I was about four. I just realize that accidentally said it wasn’t realistic for Jace to look ripped in my second post. I meant that it WAS realistic. Just wanted to get the point across. and yes Scrottie! Yoda is the Master of all Masters! lol
I like that he actually looks young, like he could play a 17 year old…even though I know he’s not. I think people forget bulky for a 17 year old is different than bulky for a 20 something year old.
believe it or not I saw some REALLY hot muscled dude’s in high school. Believe me! I had a crush on one of them, I even remember his name. Jesse Branch. We took Gym class together, and we had to run pacers, and I saw him lift his shirt up to clean his face, and my haw dropped… LITERALLY one of the girls even asked me what I saw to make my face to shocked. I wouldn’t tell her, I wanted the sight of his chest and abs to myself LOL and he wasn’t the only one I saw, he just happened to be the cutest to me, and trust me, I was only in high school about 3 and half years ago. LOL

I’m not saying that there aren’t hot guys in high school, and personally I think Jamie is hot, just not in the typical way, but the muscled guy on the cover who is supposed to be Jace is unrealistic for a teenager. And I graduated from high school last year. Most guys just don’t develop that quickly, at least not without steroids…
I don’t care If Jamie looks unrealistic. As long as he doesn’t look anything like Jamie Campbell Bower and more like someone completely different. so I don’t care for realism in this situation because Jamie is not generally the best looking guy. If they would’ve picked a guy who was generally cute. I would be more prompted for realism. Coming from someone who studies production. Either way you are not going to get realism out of a film such as this. They will continue to push his training until the last film is made. They don’t just let them stop so they can lose weight and look more and more out of character. Besides you are forgetting that people who are athletic at a very young age look like that by the time they’re 17 18. Shadowhunters begin physical training between ages of 10 and 12. 7-5 years of training. Taylor launtner in Adbuction. Teenagers. Mark wahlberg in basketball diaries, zac efron in 17 again and the 3rd high school musical. This is not a film that the academy will take as seriously as film such as The Artist, or As Good As It Gets. Not to mention it’s fantasy, it’s already unrealistic. So they’re not going to focus on realism. Like I said. I don’t care if it’s unrealistic. The boy needs man up. He has a curvy shape to his body which is very unusual for men. It kind of freaks me out. Men aren’t supposed to have sexy curves, girls are. So the bulkier he is the less noticeable it will be. If you felt like I was downgrading you, i’m sorry. I felt that Inwas friendly. Regardless of disagreeing with you. no need to sound offensive over a opinion that’s not your own. I was just merely being friendly and having a silly conversation. I don’t know why. But people usually like conversing and expressing why they have that opinion for the sake of a conversation… It’s an odd sort of thing… Isn’t it?
Lol wow people, seriously? First off, I wasn’t offended by Scrottie’s comment. Nor was I taking the conversation that seriously. I’m a little shocked so many people are bashing Jamie. That cover photo you guys seem to think is what Jace should like, was photo shopped. All the covers are a bunch of different people put together. And personally I think the guy looks ugly. No offense to anyone who thinks it’s hot. And you guys are kind of rude, Scrottie was at least polite, or trying to be, but Andy trying to point out all the “flaws” in my response just made him sound like an ass. I didn’t bother reading all the other ones completely going on and on about movies not being realistic is normal. I’m well aware that movies are unrealistic, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Jamie is by no means who I pictured as Jace, but there’s nothing I can do about it, he’s already been cast. You can either trust the casting people made the right choice, or you can complain about him. I’d rather look to the positive side of things.
Lo Alexisl why are you shocked that so many people don’t like him? Lol. I find it funny. And I don’t think anyone was really bashing him. Well… Andy was. But it was just honest opinions. I must agree that sometimes he looks like a blonde Michael Jackson, or like he should be on Rocky Horror Picture Show. But in these photos he’s looking much better. But I really don’t want him to look skinny, with a slight bit of muscle. I dont want him to look like a typical teen. I want him to look like he should be on the cover of GQ with his shirt off and drenched in beach water. Because even here where he is dressed nice and looking decent he doesn’t even come close to Jace’s standards. And I am sure no matter what he still won’t be Jace. at least to me. But a body like Brenton Thwaites will at least tell my friends when we go see this in theaters that I am not turned on by cross dressers. Lol. I don’t mean to be cruel or mean in any way, but it’s the truth. That’s why I will be incredibly disappointed if he goes through the entire series still lookin like himself. P.S. it’s incredibly HARD to not be OCD about other films when you are basically in the same line of work. lol. I am only saying those things about realistic and unrealistic things in films, audience views and blah blah blah because they are all true. I wouldn’t be saying any of it, if it weren’t true. And trust me, I am all about realism for films, but NOT this one. If Jamie is anything below Zac Efron standards in looks, then I’m sorry, but I will not be happy. No you don’t have to like that most films are unrealistic, but others don’t have to like Jamie either. It’s incredibly normal for the general consensus of women to look at him and… well…you know. I took a mobile photo of a guy that looks just like him and posted it on my facebook, both women and men were making fun of him. The way Jamie presents himself is going to be a problem for the rest of his life if he continues. Whether he’s famous or not. In the real world. Where famous people are just faces on the TV, he would never get hired for a job, or even have a career without making himself presentable. My friend Ray looked like a metal rocker for years. Graduated college, cut his 18″ long hair, and began dressing better. Because he knew it was time to take life more seriously and to grow up. So if you can’t understand why people’s first instinct is to completely reject him, than- well… I just don’t know then. lol But I am just explaining to you WHY people look at him and cringe. I am positive too. I like getting excited for more news, and to see how he’s progressing in the looks department, but just because we have a different opinion on the outcome doesn’t necessarily automatically make it a negative opinion. It’s an opinion. nothing more.

How many Shadowhunters do you know? Know any Demon warriors of any Kind? How about dragon Slayers? …. yeah… my point exactly. How can you say it’s unrealistic when there are no such things of all of this in the first place? But like my very first post on this topic, it IS possible. After ONE year a guy can look pretty buff after strict continuous work out activities. Why is it a big deal that he MUST look realistic anyway? You’re talking about Hollywood. Realism in Hollywood is a joke, honey. It rarely exists. Even in wonderful life changing films that make it to the academy’s respect list, aren’t quite there a 100% on reality. They still twist the tale to give it more of a dramatic image for audiences. The 90 percenters did not see Jace this way. So we don’t care if it’s unrealistic because unrealistic will make Jamie attractive. Besides, like I said. Why does it matter so much??? It matters to us because… like I said, the general majority of us just don’t see a good looking guy. He is gradually looking much better! I give him that. But he is still not “HOT” like you think he is. I know you said he isn’t “Typically” hot but you still find him hot when the majority of women don’t go for men like that, so you have to understand why all the fans here rather see Channing Tatum status of good looks here, and not (as Andy put it a while ago) a blonde Michael Jackson! If he was a generally good looking guy with or without muscles, I would not care at all. Because that seriously is the LEAST of our worries when it comes to production. When you say things like “It’s unrealistic to look that hot at age 17 in a movie!” it’s just as ridiculous to read as someone complaining about Lilly’s hair color. There are HUNDREDS of films with teenage boys who look like body builders. Why is it okay for those films to be unrealistic, but not okay for this one? Because you rather Jamie look like your type of guy, than everyone else’s. I get it. It’s normal. But you can’t be all pissy just because we find the kid to not be of our liking. I don’t care if it’s unrealistic either. He needs the looks, and the production has MUCH more important things to worry about than whether or not Jamie looks realistic in a vampire/werewolf/fairy/demon/warlock movie… hahaha you see the irony?

His name is jake and it was also in gym when it happened. jake and his friend jared were wrestling and just goofing around.. somehow jared accidently pulled jakes shirt off and ALL of the chicks’ jaws dropped…. even our gym teacher MRS.Benagen couldent look away… *sigh*… he had(has)the body of a god!

I will never forget Jesse Branch for the rest of my life. lol because even back then I had NO experience with boys, so therefore I just assumed they were all skinny. Not until that day. It was my Freshman year, and my first term. After that I noticed plenty boys at my school looked damn fine! And Andy THANKS! I didn’t even think of that. If there really is only a small percentage of of boys who look that good that young, than why is it so bad that Jace is among that percentage? Not to mention it also depends on where you went to school. My school was AMAZING when it came to extra curricular activities. We had EVERYTHING. We had a Gold team, a Gymnastics team, a lacros team, football, baseball, and basketball of course. We had a hockey team, a swim team, we had a WEIGHT LIFTING TEAM!!! Our school was BIG on keeping kids busy! Therefore I witnessed many boys look just about as good as “Jace” on the cover! Sports will consume most of your time, and if a student is VERY serious about it, they train all the time! Not to mention people keep forgetting that DUH Jace is NOT typical teenage boy. And just like you said Andy, how many 17 year olds in REALITY train every single day to fight demons??????????????????? Yeah, so it is NOT unrealistic! And even if it was. I don’t care if it is!
Maybe I sounded like an ass, but you sound incredibly shallow. How the hell can you say someone looks ugly when you can’t even see most of their face??????????????? Like seriously!!!! Also, it is a real person on the covers. They hire models to pose for them. They did the same exact thing with the other books as well. And of course it’s photoshopped how many model pictures aren’t???? Most of the fans picked up the books because of that front cover, and that ugly dude on the front cover just happens to be among the general type of guy that most women are into. And because you probably have a unique taste in men, you can’t overly judge the guy that harshly and call him ugly just because he is not your type. The better way to say it would’ve probably been “I still didn’t picture Jace like that.” Or “Eeehhh he wasn’t really all that appealing to me, but I can see why you guys used that as a idea of what Jace looks like” And don’t argue back about that one, cause you know it’s tru. However, I am sorry for sounding like an ass before, I truly didn’t mean to, honestly. But I tend to do that a lot. Be a dick to people even when I don’t mean to. I still find him strangely fascinating, and I think Jace would definitely be someone who was fascinating to look at, but I don’t know, he seemed to be bulkier in the last photo and now he looks smaller again? Still, I think he looks pretty cute, and the way they’re dragging out casting there’s still plenty of time for him to bulk up before filming starts!
I totally agree with you whenever I look at him there is just something that I can’t put my finger on about him but I like it! And he can look so different depending on what he is wearing.

zara: You’re so right especaially about his hair. I don’t know if he puts too much product in it or something but it always looks so greasy and lank. If he just took better care of his hair he would look 1000 times better immediately. He IS a good-looking guy as we can see in these pics but the bad hair and wardrobe hide it. At least he seems to be dressing better the last few events he attended and the hair is looking a bit better too even if it is still kind of ick.
one of things that makes jamie look not so hot is his wardrobe and hair. He needs to get that hair under control and dress better, it will do wonders for him. I see a jace in these pics especially the second pic, it may be because of the better clothes or he just looks leaner but I can see it so that is a wonderful thing.
Agreed. I don’t know if he’s trying to pull off the Tim Burton style, with the hair he does some times, but Tim Burton is not attractive. hahaha. although one of my favorite writers/producers/directors LOL but here he looks good. I still wish he’d change his hair, but I think they will do that for the movie, or at least make it thicker and silky looking. Cause Clary always describes Jace’s hair as soft, silky, curly, and very shiny. I just want him to have bangs, I just always pictured Jace with a bit of a shag anyway. But here his wardrobe looks much better than usual, I want him to get rid of the Russel Brand shoes lol. but other than that he looks cute here
