Evanescence a Fit For ‘Mortal Instruments’ Soundtrack?

This was a mere TIP, from a NON-REPUTABLE source. (Had to get that out) So here we are merely SPECULATING that Evanescence would be a fantastic fit for the ‘Mortal Instruments’ Soundtrack. There is so much to be done between now and a soundtrack, that this is a mere thought. HOWEVER, Scott Charles Stewart, the Director, is a fan of the group.

This song, ‘Imaginary’, would be rock solid for Clary’s voice. Do you agree? What do you think?

love the song its perfect for the move!!!!

  • Peanutgirl4ever

I think Field of Innocence would be good for clary.

  • I love evenesens her voice is amazing, her songs do justice to any paranormal, supernatural story… Aka movie, so the list for this musicians for these movie is without question a prefect fit.

  • Everybodys fool could work for Valentine and Lukes realationship or Valentine and Jocelyns relationship, everytime i hear it i think of Valentine.

  • I love it, itll be perfect for the soundtrack

You should hear No Ordinary Love
by The Civil Wars. It totally describes jace and clary!!

Evanescnce is such a great band and Imaginary would be perfect! Lost in Paradise is great, but I think Imaginary is better for Clary

PS: Excuse my English, I’m from Germany :D

  • Marie

OMFG YES!!! This is perfect for Clary!!! This is so like her.

  • Jenn

    YES!YES!YES!YES!YES!

I think Evanescence overall is a great choice, but not the song. I also think Wonderland by Avril Lavigne isn’t a bad song for it–Clary is thrown into a world she didn’t know/remember existed. (Even though the lyrics don’t match well)

  • Clary

Try “Lost in Paradise”, by Evanescence. Either for Mortal Instruments (depends on book)
    or Infernal Devices.

  • Rakia

maybe a different song from them would be better :P

  • lexi

i think the song my immortal my evanescence would be the perfect song for the movie

  • lily

    I think it fits perfectly!!!!

  • lauren

    ………….i dont like it.

  • Katelyn

I think Into The Night by Santanna feat Chad Kroeger is a perfect song for Jace describing Clary.

  • Sarah

I feel like this song would fit tessa from clockwork angel a lot better than clary. Maybe for Clary…hello? whisper?

Evenescence is good…but there is a lesser known band called Within Temptation, that has this movie written all over it. Song titles such as “What Have I Done”, “Our Solemn Hour”, “Frozen”,”The Howling”, “All I Need” (which I hear whenever I read a Clary/Jace moment). Check them out…truly, I think you’ll agree!

Hehehe, yay, WT! I also like HIM with their version of “Don’t fear the reaper”, lol, it mentions Valentine(though with a different meaning) as for WT, i also find “The last dance” somehow fitting to Clary’s dreams about Alicante and her deepenning emotional connection with Jace.
Also, i have to agree with Olivia on the FaTM mention. I was rereading the series a few weeks ago before i took on CoLS and during CoA, at the Seelie Court scene, my playlist reached the infamous by now “Never let me go”. All my brain was able to do was scream: PERFECTION!!! Eerie sound + “And the crashes are Heaven/For a Sinner like me/ The arms of the ocean/Deliver me!” motivate my reaction. If one can imagine an ocean of feelings instead of a literal one and admitting to the “sin” as part of catharsys(sorry for the rambling )added to knowing by then both characters’ perspective on the moment, you’ll get my point.
I have no idea how to directly suggest music here otherwise than through comments, but i would add as personal faves for the first trilogy Enigma’s “TNT for the brain”, “Gravity of Love” and (LOL) “Mea culpa” *hint, hint*.
Yes, ik the music i mentioned is kinda old and/or over-used, but i found it perfect for the intense emotions/sensations the reading produced. Rant over

  • Pls listen to the song first before making judgment. Well it good to know that the director loves the band too, at least the song stands a chance.

At first I don’t get the song either before reading TMI. I’ve only LUV Imaginary as the lyrics, vocal and rhythm transport me into that world…
If you know what I mean.

Imaginary in my case, it signifies all about Clary on her biggest dream to be more than just a mundane and her journey venturing to the underworld especially part Amy sang,

‘Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
Oh, how I long for the deep sleep dreaming
    The goddess of imaginary light..’

Aside from the lyrics, I think the rhythm is best fit for the ads trailer. There is one point particularly the sound of drums-bashing in the middle presentation of music backdrops before the entry of Imaginary lyrics …At this peak point, I can actually depict Jace with all his stunt-action sequences by gliding down to his knees onto floor after slashing a demon.

Last and needless to say, Amy Lee’s surrealism vocal known for the streamline of dark, supernatural and emo-complications, I have a fullest faith that her voice will transport TMI fans into fantasy world of The Mortal Instruments.

    Here’s the poster to share!

I think Florence + the machine would be an amazing pick for the soundtrack.

  • madison

ehhh. idk about them. it seems a little….um…i cant even identify it, but it just doesnt make me think of city of bones.

  • Scrotty

I need visual first. Sad to say, I don’t know why. I think I would be able to see what bands/songs can play most of the music in TMI movies. Whether or not they use it/them is another story. For example; I picture Chop Suey by System Of A Down for True Blood. The theme song they chose; Bad Things by JACE Everette fits it perfectly, but I still picture True Blood every time I hear Chop Suey .

P.S. I never knew people in the world actually HAVE the name JACE! :D You know Teen Mom? Well Janella is a crazy B-word but I like watching her just cause she named her son Jace! :D SO awesome (probably the ONLY good thing she did for her son. :( )

Once I read these books and fell in love with Jace I wondered if she named her kid after the character. I Googled it but couldn’t find any proof. I tell my husband if we “accidentally” had another kid and it was a boy it would definately be Jace, well it’s either Jace or Oops and Jace sounds better…don’t you think? :)

the lyrics kind of fit mi series but idk i just don’t feel it u know it’s just my opinion though
